I remember this car quite well.  It got me infected with salt fever.  I grew up in San Diego and Nolan had a Flying A gas station on the corner of Clairemont Drive and Balboa. I was in Jr high (Marsden) down the street and high school (Clairemont) across the street during those years and would watch the car being rebuilt every year prior to El Mirage. It was an annual treat for me to watch.

Nolan and Bob Higbee were friends when they were young . Bob's daughter said they would ride the bus to the junkyard and come back with front axles and such for cars they were building .
