Scooters and the 15" minimum wheel dia. rule.
« on: January 26, 2010, 06:15:33 AM »
Hello,

I am looking to run a cheap chinese scooter at Maxton.  I've been all jazzed up w/ the GY6 motor's aftermarket and all the stuff that can be done w/ these things.  I'd love to have an outlet for racing one and determining its potential.  Unfortunately I just stumbled across the minimum wheel diameter rule:

Quote
7.B.10 Wheels:
Wheels must have a minimum nominal diameter of 15 in., except in the Sidecar and Streamliner classes.

Can this be overlooked if the vehicle came with 10" wheels stock? (and is really slow )

I remember reading about the '08 Super Streetbike event where someone ran their Honda Elite and won a trophy.  I think the Elite has 10" wheels as well.

What say the powers-that-be?

Thanks,

Mike
