Jon, SSS, I personally think that Jim should be asked, told that he is free to post questions about the LSR car he is building or post a build diary about said car, but this continual cut and paste stuff is not productive to this board.  It might generate hits for now, but I personally feel it is not in your best interest to let it continue.

I know this isn't an easy one, but please think about it,

Sum

I would like to concur with Sumner's suggestion.  We are headed down the same ole rabbit hole as before.  I must say that it was a nice distraction to open up the forum and see what Franklin, I mean Jim has posted and the response it garners.  As they say the entertainment value was worth the price of admission.  But I am tired of the cut and paste as well.

jim:

why do you insist on regurgitating everything that gary and i have already posted on motion I under the wrong name?

why do you have to try to perpetuate wrong information on all of the various lsr cars that you've introduced to this forum?

why do you hide behind this frdr (surely another one of your personalities) as being the source of your information on motion I when it all came from this website?

why do you feel you need to gobble up all of the bandwidth?

why do you need to be noticed?

why do you feel that you need to make everyone hate you before they even get a chance to meet you?

why don't you post on the new doug herbert thread?  i thought he was your good buddy and confidant?  why aren't you guys exchanging conversations of that advanced technology with which you are so familiar?  how come you and doug aren't eating out of that same cereal bowl?  i thought you guys used to cross streams all the time?

slim and moderators:

  • why is mr. demmitt still able to post on this forum?

his inaccurate pastings and statements are contributing to alterations of our history!

    he needs to go now!

how do we lock (or better yet: delete) this thread (or any other thread that he has introduced) before this inaccurate and inarticulate interloper permanently changes the name of motion I to another name because he thinks it sounds stronger (or any other modification to the various cars and drivers that he has started)?

Greg, I must respectfully disagree on the delete...  While Blown Alcohol 57Turd aka Jim Dimmitt Jr has cut and paste is way down the misinformation highway, you and Tom have filled the holes of history.  Smart folks that read this thread in the future will be able to sort the facts from the drivel.  The remainder will just have to look at some of the stuff that must be Jr's only chance at original thought and understand he is a few pistons short of a V8...

Here are a couple of my favorites...

"One must never underestimate ones ability in engineering technology and aerodynamic skills. On a lower level of thought it makes that person look retarded in effort to downplay someone much more Superior in knowledge of an advanced nature (Do you understand)? Take the time to learn from a person of a much higher caliber remarks this this only makes you look bad in the eyes of professionals"  Jim Demmitt Jr

"First off Idiot ……
We shall see who's technology is better all your BS and crying over it wont change a thing. Once they get the ball rolling in testing your Jaws will drop. All this azz kissing posts of you guys open your eyes" Jim Demmitt Jr

Sum has the correct way for Jim to exist here, we don't need a C & P Ratcliff Jr ....  Original words and work or no participation  :|

Personally I think he has hi jacked this site.

Stainless, I think you are wrong, in that the not informed potential LSR fan or racer will not be able to differentiate between the drivel posted here by this pair and actual fact.  The longer this goes on the harder it is to correct his twisted view of our history.

Jon, I'm happy you took ownership of the site and respect your authority over it, but I think you are being way too politically correct.

By positioning themselves as experts,  Ratliff and Demmet are poised to do damage to the history of a sport most of us love so much.

Cut and paste makes a mockery of being a historian.

Okay, okay -- I've stopped Mr. Demmitt from posting.  I've had enough of the bickering engendered by his presence on the site.  I'd appreciate it if all that joined in the bickering -- giving as well as getting -- would drop the subject for now and return to land speed racing as we've known it.

I suggested the Demmitt start his own website for ALSR topics.  Look for it (if he does indeed start such) to find the information that he might otherwise post here.

A not:  I've banned him using a few different identifiers, one of which might cause others to be inadvertently be disallowed to post.  This has happened a few times in the past - and is apparently a quirk in the way this Forum's software interacts with that of AOL and perhaps other sites/portals.  If you suddenly can't get on the Forum, or are contacted by someone else that knows you and he can't - do your best to get in touch with me and we'll see if we can find a work-around to get one and all back where they should be.

Best -

Greg & Gary-
This has been a fabulous thread.  I'd be a real shame if this dried up.  If you have any more pics, please post.

My Dad has spoken highly of both Noel and Bert.

Being a Newbie I was a little tentative to ask Jon to rethink his decision about putting the brakes on this great read. Nick is right in suggesting this thread be reinstated, I too would like it to continue. Not much is written about this car and for someone who lives on the other side of the pond it's fairly difficult to find anything remotley related to Bonneville, this is why I joined Landracing. I hope Jon rethinks his decision so guys like Nick Snr. and the others who contributed before can tell or retell their stories in a much more relaxed and positive way.

Ah, but I didn't put the brakes on the thread, so to speak -- just one of the folks that was posting on it.  You're all welcome to discuss and even post things concerning the topic.  I don't want to quash open discussion -- I do need to keep the entire Forum operating in a civil manner.

Carry on, gentlemen.

Nick 3rd,

hi nick:

i would like to see all activity on this tread moved to the 'motion I - b&n automotive' thread: http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,5333.0.html

the only reason i would like to see this particular thread come to an end is because ba57 listed the subject as a name bert and noel considered a derogatory reference to their car.

more website, blogs and forums refer to the car as the rhinoceros.

i'm just attempting to disassociate that name with the real name of the car: motion I.

as far as more pics: john sprenger, b&n automotive's official archivist, is supposed to get me copies of the pics that he has so i can create an online album of just b&n/motion I related pics.

you'll see it in the 'motion I - b&n automotive' thread: http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,5333.0.html

you'll also see more stories on the 'b&n bad guys" within that thread.  my time to write has been reduced as i have begun to work on my october off-road rally.
