Hey why I'm thinking of it you, Jon and I were talking about Howard's car/cars and the chute thing.  I have pictures on my site that were taken in 2000 showing the side chute openings that I was talking about (they are hard to see, but notice there is not a round chute tube in the tail as there is now).  There is also one construction picture and I have more unless I sent them to Earl.  So is the car in the picture the present one???  Notice the camera that you talked about on top of the tail.  Also as I mention on the page he drove it to 289 mph:

Yes, after several other discussions we concluded that Howard had it out a couple of times before he sold it. 
Howard N, chime in here and give us a rundown on your adventures with the liner...

You're not going to believe this, just this morning I was reading about this race in a 50's Hot Rod. And I was wondering what it would take to do this race. A picture of Ak Miller setting in the roadester popped in my mind.
