Pinto LSR Wagon back on track
« on: October 01, 2004, 02:45:00 PM »
Hey, everyone:

Just wanted to stop by and say hello--haven't been here in a while. But I'm psyched--I finally found a two-car garage where I can work on my '80 Pinto C/GALT Wagon (doing the car thing in NYC is a challenge!    ).

The bottom end of the 306 has been purchased ('86 302 roller block, .030 over; stock crank and rods; KB hyper flat-top pistons), plus I've been porting the stock E7TE heads myself, which will be refitted for 1.94/1.60 valves and fed by a Ford Motorsports Vic Jr. intake. The Pinto's four-banger should be coming out in the next couple of weeks. Speedweek '05? We'll see....

Are the '04 rule books available?

 Thanks!

 Gary

Gary, After the World Finals, I'll trade you my '04 rulebook for a slice of NY pizza!  Tom

With an '80 Pinto you could run in C/CGALT.

You just missed out--I went ahead and ordered a new one two days ago   :p   But if you're ever in the mood for pizza, let me know and I'll ship you some--lord knows I eat enough of it

John: You're right--I actually meant to write C/CGALT. I was originally going to run in D/CGALT, but then I got a new .030 over 302 block and presto!--now I'm buried even deeper in the class....

To bad you don't have or can't get a .020" over block. Than you could run "D".

Or a 289 crank. Cheap and easy to find it will get you back in "D"
