Are you planning on running anything or are you spectating? Which meet are you thinking of attending? Sorry didn't pick up on "competitors" right away. What are you planning on running?

Watch Worlds Fastest Indian. Pretty much exactly the way it is....

Hardest part....getting a room.

What are you running is a good question. That can change advice for sure!

Set up pit on thursday & do it on the front row if you want to see the long course action going buy.
Get through tech friday, that will give you fix time if you have any problems.
Drivers meeting & rookie orientation will suck up a good chunk of saturday.
If you have your crap together you should be able to get a run in saturday afternoon.
Run as soon as you can, the weather can take it all away from us.
Drink water like a fish to avoid dehydration.
Enjoy your self & welcome to the Bville circus.

Last year was my rookie season - no previous racing experience, much less on the Salt.  I found several things helpful for my effort.  Read the rule book over and over and over again.  Follow all the old threads on this site that you find to be relevant; lots of good info here and leads to other things you need to learn more about.  Get in touch with the appropriate SCTA guys that can answer your questions; see Section 16 of the rule book.  Network in your local area to find a fellow racer; have him/her do a walk around on your car to spot those little things that might trip you up on your first run through Tech.  Put together a crew that is knowledgeable and that you can have fun with.  After that, "be safe, go fast, and have fun!"

And what are you going to be running?  What stage are you in your build?

IF you did nothing but read and reread the above posts and followed them you should have a great first time.  If you have a chance to QUALIFY---find  guys that have been through the vist to inpound as a coach-----that is a wonderfully scary place---but you have a wonderful host "Mayor Dan Warner" and crew!!

:-P  :-P by the way ---what are you bringing?????
