FIM Rules
« on: April 05, 2012, 01:00:33 PM »
Does anyone have really good knowledge on the FIM Rules and can spare 30-40 minutes to talk on the phone?
Roland6250@hotmail.com

Or can someone post a link to the English version of the rules for Motorcycle Land Speed Racing?

There are two parts to this.  The last part has most of what you need.  The 2012 rules are not out now.  They do not change much from year to year.  The FIM makes a lot of sense after a person gets used to it.

Send for the entry BUB packet.  There are some fancy medical tests you will need, a resume, and other things not required by the other sanctioning bodies.

The FIM will have their rules on the website, which is now www.fim-live.com Getting them directly from the governing body ensures that you see what they have written without any possibility of any lost words.

The person to speak with about rules is Charles Hennenkam, but that would mean calling Switzerland. He represents the FIM technical commission.

Even those who have competed for records under FIM governance may not have a full grasp of the intentions of the rules (and I include myself, even though we ran 13 years ago).  Why not speak with BUB or Mike Akatiff as the team owners who have set FIM outright records, along with organiser Mike Cook?
