I don't know if this will help or not, but I found it usefull trying to identify some parts I had scrounged up. Along with the head and block casting numbers, there is a GM tranny gear ratio chart.

Buddy, I'll look into the 833. It just so happens that in a strange dark corner of the studio... there are 2 or 3  833's. I did not know they were stronger than a Muncie.
I am leaning towards more gears, closer ratios with 1:1 top, though.
I'm currious about Richards Tremec 6 and G- force 4 experience.
I think I need to compile the shift ratio data from the transmissions I blew.
The T-10 w.r. gear spreads and the Muncie c.r. gear spreads and find a stronger trans that splits the difference in a 4 speed or speads it more even in a 5 or 6 speed.

The gearing is different than a Chevy. Here is a 'cheat' sheet for you.BTW, you didn't answer- you running BVGCC? Why not punch that out one more CI, and come up tp XXO?

And if you have an extra close ratio 883, I'm looking for one........

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

Jeff,
We never used the 6 spd with the 3.00 as there was no need to because the 800 hp the turbo 4 cyl esslinger (ford Pinto)  makes couldn't pull 5th (.80) over 8000 rpms and 6th (.62) was a disaster and we needed to reduce our rotating mass (because of flywheel issues) so we went with a tilton 5" 4 disc, clutch, flywheel and the 101A G-force trans (formerly 101 Tex trans) with a Long inline shifter (witch is really a nice shifter plus the 101a is clutchless). The 101a has an endless range of gear ratios available. We used 2.32, 1.56, 1.20, 1.0 witch worked very well, of course now we have to push the car off the starting line. So what I learned the hardway was that overdrives rob to much HP. Here is a mph calculater off of the currie site that is really handy. http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/calculators/mphCalculator.htm

Jeff, are you going to continue to run the 'Bombshell', or is it going to be retired?

Are you going to stay with the WWII nose theme for a name?

Coral Queen?
Hobo Queen?
Lady Eve?
Miss Fortune?
Smooth Sue?
Temptation?
Wonderous Wanda?

My favorite- Uninvited.

Like Bombshell Betty, all of the above adorned actual WWII bombers.

We look forward to seeing whatever you come up with as your last (1st) effort was so cool!
