Now that was different, but somewhere logged into my grey cells i remember an article in Hot Rod magazine, where the USAF had a drag race with either a Funny Car or a AA Top Fueler, maybe someone else remembers that.
Good vid do not know when it was made but it was good to see Richard (Hamster ) Hammond is well.
Remember Murphy's 6th law,if all goes well, then you have missed something out.

I vaguely remember that also. I think it was Garlits with a top fueler in the 80's

What was the car....a Bugatti? 188 in a mile? Using that car against a state of the art fighter seems a mismatch? How about Al's liner? No....turn around problems could mess that up . Top fueler maybe....but all those timers and clutches and the need for a 50 gallon fuel tank might get in the way....how about bringing Ivo's Barnstormer back for one more pass? That might be fun. I'll bet Force would do it!

That is a stunt that was done on the British program "Top Gear" you can see it on the BBC channel. There are 3 pretty different Brits that get to do some pretty outlandish things with cars. They have worn out more $500 tires than a drifter sponsered by a tire company!

Fun to watch, although they do cut anything American pretty hard. (Just need to remind them that without us they would be speaking German now!)
