... I need to decide whether I'll assemble and test run it prior to putting it in the car...
It didn't take long to convince me to test-run the engine. Checking the coolant system today and fixing a couple leaks was all it took; those leaks would have been nearly impossible to service in the car.

Getting closer to firing up the hemi twin. What a rat's nest of plumbing and wiring to support test running!
Only missing blower belts which should be here in a few days. But I may wait until it isn't so bitter cold, since the overhead door will need to be open.

To get the 14-71 billet blower down to 19% of crank speed I had to build this two-stage belt drive.

After a few "false starts" I got a good test firing of the twin today. Now I'm confident enough to re-install it into the lakester.
Strange- how the exhaust doesn't sound like a twin, just sounds mean like the four did. 8-)

Any engine run videos to post with audio; dyno pulls with numbers, or just some throttle whacks? Making us wait until the season is inhumane!

Drivetrain now installed, fluids added, leaks fixed, and fluid systems primed. Ready for more test running to tweak the tuning.
I've decided to change the mounting of the upper body section over the drivetrain. It's presently a two man job to unbolt it and lift it off. I'll add hinges to the passenger(!) side, so removing a half dozen bolts will allow me to open it by myself.
The picture shows why it took me almost a week to cram everything in! The single open space is required to change gears in the top-load quick-change box.
The picture that didn't come out good is a temporary control panel to avoid climbing in/out of the cockpit. Switches for KILL, START, PRIMER and LEAN IDLE, and throttle and fuel shutoff are easily at hand.

Another task added. Removing/installing the body piece over the drivetrain has always been a two-person job. I'll try hinging it so I can open/close it by myself.
Just finished something I had promised myself when I broke the engine by running without the fuel shutoff valve fully open. Added a bright dash panel lamp which is illuminated whenever the shutoff isn't fully open.
