I fabricated an intercooler water/ice holding tank out of 16 ga. galvanized steel. Double wall with 1" pink insulation between the walls. Had a piece of 1/2" pipe as a water return back from the intercoller with 1/8" dia. holes drilled in it. Had an RV water pump that circulated the cold water to the intercooler. We put in 3 bags of ice when we were next in line from the start. The datalogs showed the IAT starting at 60 degrees and going no hotter that 105 degrees on the long course. It sat in the passengers floor board, didn't leave much room for passengers feet, just ask Dieselgeek. The opening at the top was about 5" x 8" with a hinged lid and a cheap rubber gasket to seal it. At the 7 mile mark on the return road, the ice was all melted and the water was luke warm.
