Title: Roadster Grill Shell Insert
Post by: JamesJ on May 26, 2011, 12:15:00 PM
In the "Roadster" Class as we all know some run an insert and other just use a completely filled grill shell.  If one was to use an insert and then tape over were the insert meets the grill shell would that cause any trouble?  The reason I ask is because we have made an insert but it does not fit perfectly up against the shell and this would seal it all together.

Many have made their "block off plate" slightly larger than the opening with a bent or slightly rolled edge and been legal #369 Wilson and Waters comes to mind. Mine has a rubber edging around the plate bought from McMaster-Carr to make the seal. I don't think tape would cause a legal problem...Good Luck
