I keep looking around for land speed records for various classes but no luck so far. All I find is the ultimate really high speed records. Where can I look?
Second question, is there a collaborated timing association or are they all different? I been running the Texas mile but want to expand my horizon. On a plus note finally made it to the 200mph club and I'm addicted to this now.
Thanks for the help!

There are many timing organizations. The oldest/best known is the Southern Calif. Timing Ass'n, made up of a dozen or so clubs in the SoCal area. They're the group that races at Bonneville, as well as does the Utah Salt Flats Racing Ass'n (Salt Lake City, UT). There's the East Coast Timing Ass'n, a single club that races at the Maxton (NC) "Monster Mile". Loring Timing Ass'n is in Loring, ME, and then there are the groups without affiliation - like the Texas Mile. Most, if not all, have links to their sites on the home page of this website.
As for records -- you'll find them in the rule book of SCTA and ECTA, and you're also able to find them on the various websites.
200 MPH Club at Bonneville is not simply going 200 -- it's setting a new record over 200 - or over the minimum in the class in which you run. Example - my wife holds a record in 1650 PP (motorcycle) of 201.913. But she's not yet in the Club -- needs to exceed the 205 minimum. "Taint easy to get in the Bville Club. Most of the other clubs require setting records, too, although not two-way records like at Bonneville.
Where are you from? What's your interest? What do you race? And - welcome to the Forum.

Jon's sound advice was posted while I was framing my reply.
Look at the organization running the event you want to run.
What class and what venue are you interested in?

WEll, so I did. Howsabout that? But then, Dallas -- I offered more than just Bonneville information, so there!

There is more than just Bonneville :?
-
That explains alot! I'm trying to read up on the various ones and go from there. See what I think I can do.
I'm outside of san Antonio, I ran a zx14 , as for interest looking for a new fun challenge and learning experience.
I don't know the class or venue yet. I have a Sportster 1200 I can tinker with. Zx14 needs some work, something broke.
-
Gee, a ZX14 that's broke. Tell you what I'll do -- I'll offer $400 for it and take it off your hands -- how 'bout that? We've got one that's broke, too, so maybe we could put them together and make a good street bike. No, wait -- our other one IS a street bike. Don't need two of 'em. Never mind.
And yes, Dallas, there are places other than Bonneville. None like it, though -- that's for sure. Glarior, make your plans right now, this minute, to visit Bonneville this year for one of the events. You will not regret the trip.
-
Lol, yep broke, something about 50 shot nitrous and not paying attention to the a/f data does not help the engine.
I'm seeing about bonneville, its on my list of things to do this year.
-
Been there -- have the holed piston to show for it.
See you on the Salt, right?

Where outside San Antonio are you?
