Title: SpeedWeek Entry Forms
Post by: Stan Back on March 22, 2011, 02:37:45 PM
The 2011 SpeedWeek Entry Form has been posted on the SCTA website, scta-bni.org.  It's best for all concerned to use the fillable form on that site.

Ordered a 2011 rulebook and was filling out the entry form and damned if I can find a place to join the SCTA? I'm already a memeber of ECTA. Where's the join up form for SCTA?

You don't join the SCTA to race at Bonneville, sort of.  You need to be a member of BNI, though.  You should be able to join SCTA if you really want to do so -- but all of the clubs are on the west coast, and many have requirements that might be hard for you to fulfill (like volunteer duty at El Mirage).

Now -- is there a BNI -joining form in the book?  I don't think so. . .  SCTA members are automatically BNI members.

DW, you would know that, was that off the top of your head, or did you look it up?

I could fib and say that the knowledge is a part of my physical makeup - I looked.

Anybody know about how many pre-entrys are in? Just curious, not looking for exact numbers.

Over 75 so far.

Isn't that kind of low for this close to the deadline?

Okay, who's responsible?  I went to the SCTA-BMI site to look at and fill out the pre-reg form -- and when I click I get a "404 Page Not Found" error.  That's the SCTA's link, not one on this Forum.  Somebody have a workaround?

No work around. I will make the call right now.

I believe more -- but I've lost the documentation I'd accumulated over the years.

"What's normal?"

Yeah, I've asked myself - and other folks, too -- that question many times.  And the response is usually -- "Who am I to define what is normal?

We're normal.  Its the rest of the world thats screwed up.

P.S. Stan.  Entry on its way.  See if you can get the SCTA to spell Weslake correctly.  Its an engine not a village.

Sorry Stan.  I flunked out of the University of San Bernardino's english, grammar and the proper use therof course.

Will my entry form be graded?

Okay, Stan.  Either I'm blind - or I'm stumped.  On the .pdf entry form there's no location to attach a photo -- is there?  If so -- where is it?  Also -- how do I remit the $400?  I didn't go past filling out the form -- so if the questions would be answered if I had gone farther -- please let me (and maybe others) know.  For that matter -- seeing as how more than a hundred forms have arrived there must be some way to do this stuff.  How'd the rest of you accomplish the chores?

As per the link you click, you fill it out and print it. It goes to BNI by snail mail allong with picture.

. . . and your check.  They're Yugo.

Thanx, roadster man.

Stan

(Also -- you might check to see if the checkmarks used in the Blown/Unblown and Gas/Fuel boxes print out.  They're not working for some people.  Just check them manually.)

or email it with a picture to JoAnn and then call her with your CC numbers.  That makes it painless for all. (at least until the bill arrives)

It's quite painless to process when you get it all in one shot, actually.  Imagine getting 400+ phone calls to match up with 400x2 (entry and pic) emails -- all in 10 days while you're trying to do something else besides take credit card numbers.

And, I forgot, BNI membership forms and money to match up with the entries as needed.

A reminder -- Sunday, May 15, is the deadline for mailing in pre-entries and taking advantage of the pre-entry deadline and getting your entry listed in the program.

This was talked about briefly in a different thread but if you pre register is there any way that other competitors can see what class you registered for?

Later on this summer SCTA will post a list of pre-registered vehicles - but that'll be a while yet.  There's no way 'til then, I do believe

Fred --

We got you entered in 1350 MPS-G -- don't worry -- they'll eventually take your money!

Thanks Stan, I was pretty sure everything was OK. It always takes a long timefor the checks to get processed. It always drives me nuts, as SS1 says that's not far from, my normal. :-D

I received a email from Mike Waters today with this as one of the line items:

"9 – FYI- As of 5-17-11 415 pre entries 1500 BNI Members. JoAnn stated she is a little surprised at that many pre entries this soon, she feels it will end up at 500 or more."

I just dug up this post from last year -- June of 2010:

"It's posted right now -- I just looked through it.  354 cars, 145 bikes, 499 totals.  It's posted/titled "as of 9 June 2010".

Just got this note:

"Just got back from the PO – we are now at 475 –

JoAnn"

There does not seem to be much of down turn of entries as predicted by Ratliff due to the lack of 400 MPH tires. In fact, I'll bet there are more 400 MPH caple entries now than are listed in his 1973 rulebook.
