Well -- why is this posted?  I guess because it might be of interest to some of the folks on this Forum - certainly a higher percentage of folks here than on the internet in general.  And -- it's in the Non-LSR thread -- so is placed properly if it's going to be here at all.  We have the occasional post about NAScar (where's Kent been hiding, anyway?) and the Indy cars and so on -- so funny car stuff isn't all that odd.

Just my opinion -- but then, as the head handlebar holder of the site - I guess my opinion will stand as mine.  Got that?

As always there is some levity here, dunno if it'll fly for the US readers but defo for the down-under readers.....

“We felt that if God wanted it to happen, it would happen. Well, God didn’t waste any time,” she said. “Dan and I know there is always a risk at the beginning of a pregnancy, so we waited as long as possible to say anything to make sure everything was all right and there were no problems.

“I will be taking off this season, but I will still represent Castrol, Ford, Auto Club, BrandSource, and Mac Tools; will still be involved in media, commercials, and interviews; and will definitely still be rooting on my teammates to go after that 2011 championship
.”

We generally use the term "rooting" to describe something else here, and no disrespect intended to those of a liturgical leaning but I read a book in third grade called "Where Babies Come From" and I don't remember there being any bit about the big fella having any say in it. :? :?

Why does this need to be posted?

It needs to be posted for ME. I didn't know the news.

I know John Force had several daughters, yet no son to follow in Dad's footsteps in a professional racing career. So, his daughter Ashley said she would give Dad's love for drag racing a try. IMHO I think she did quite well to make Dad proud.

I have no sons and only one daughter who is 9 years old. She is all I have. As a retired shop teacher, far from the professional racing world, I do plan to run on the salt flats some day. I would be as proud as John Force is for his daughter Ashley if my young daughter learns the love of racing I have for the salt. Within my budget, I can design, innovate, construct, modify, dyno tune, drive and achieve my dreams by running on the salt. In short, I want to teach my daughter to meet nice people, make noise, go fast, meet nice people again and then go home with more than what you came with. I want to teach my daughter a life lesson (through race cars or bikes) that she can run with the boys and be successful.

Should she decide to race on the salt and become pregnant (after marriage) I hope she takes a year off too. If...if...if, who knows? I might even post it here.

Reading anything on this site is better than reading the local paper and much more entertaining.

Why is this posted?

Because there are 17 F'ng joke threads here, thats why!

I would ask why are there joke threads, racing of any sort is more revelant.

Some of us know the Force's and have been or still involved in drag racing. She has been good for the sport as well as John for his PR. He has helped several LSR members. I say more power to Ashley for being up front.

Mike Neff must be happiest guy on the planet. After getting dumped as a driver in 2010 due to budget restraints, he is back in the car as driver AND crew chief.

Force moves over to Guido Antonelli as crew chief.

I believe what you meant to say was that you could not care less....
If you don't want to read about racers' personal lives, then don't read threads about them.
