Hi guys.
Am I reading correctly in the Production rulebook section.
There's no specifics on ;
suspension mods ( coil-overs),
cylinder head mods( port/ polish/ enlarge).
camshaft( includes rest of valve train, big springs, stainless steel valves, etc )
induction ( ITB's, or multiple carbs)
compression ratio( free pistons, any configuration top)
gearbox with no reverse needed..
if so, looks better every day....

I don't race ECTA---but under SCTA which is similar-- You have to retain stock bolt pattens in the heads and stock frame rails, and a stock body.---a VERY loose interpretation

Yes . .all these things are allowed in Pro.
What car and engine are you considering running?
-
Planning on a 1990 VW 2-door Jetta, with a 2.0 liter 16v for G/ Pro.
Car is free, have a lot of engine and gearbox pieces I've collected thru the years of SCCA racing, have to put them to some use...
and LSR looks like the place to be.!
Just want to make sure it's feasible, and I don't use what's not supposed to be there...
I'm kind of partial to small cc screaming 4- bangers.. non-turbo preferred...
I got the SCTA book, ECTA any major differences?
Thanks for reply, guys!

You do need to get the ECTA rules book. Yes the G/Pro rules are the same as the SCTA. However, there are some differences in other classes at Maxton that your car might be able to run. ECTA has "street" classes and if your car is registered, insured and has required street equipment you can run those classes. With carbs you can run in G/GRS, or G/FRS. You can also run in G/GSS and G/FSS. On the other hand, you mentioned SCCA racing so if your car is set up for SCCA Road Racing you can run in the Circle Track Category as an G/GCT or G/FCT. Lots of options . . . .

Good to know there are more options.
Those alternate classes are a plus and safety net, in case records get out of reach in a particular class.
Rule book time...

mmm, sounds like a deal..!
Now all I have to figure out is how to get there, car or no car...

Ricardo,
I would take a plane from San Juan to Charlotte, NC or to Greensboro, NC check the prices and book the lowest fare. Drive time from each to Maxton is about the same. Then rent a car and drive on in.
Bring your Helmet with you and get a sporty rent a car and take your rookie runs in it. That will give you a feel for the track and the staging and starting line procedures.

Sounds like a plan!
I suppose by sporty you mean, with enough trunk space for the beer ??
:-D

hummm,... US Airways flies direct to Charlotte...4 hrs and I'm there. For around 200 bucks, not bad at all.
