Title: Shane Tecklenburg to appear live on Drag Illustrated Radio Program tonight
Post by: TunedbyShaneT on October 11, 2010, 08:11:04 PM
For Immediate Release

10-11-2010 - Huntington Beach, CA - Engine Management System specialist Shane Tecklenburg, 36 of ST Consulting in Huntington Beach, CA will be appearing tonight on the "Drag Illustrated Radio with Wes and Wyatt in the evening" internet talk radio program with Wes Buck, editor in chief and Wyatt Haldin, President of Drag Illustrated magazine. Tecklenburg, who has extensive experience in the field of turbocharging in many forms of motorsport will be able to provide technical information as it pertains to turbocharging and engine management in drag racing. The show has been running since April of 2010 and like the magazine, is to drag racing what Rolling Stone is to the music industry. It's all about maintaining a focus on the “rock stars” of the sport, and on the strategies, equipment, and experiences that get them to the finish line first.

The show appears at www.blogtalkradio.com/drag-illustrated beginning at 9:00 pm Central Standard Time (7:00 pm Pacific) and is open to everyone.

Hey Bville Racer

Sorry I don't own any drag cars, I am a freelance tuner for cars in all forms of Motorsport. Specifically in drag racing I have been involved with teams in Pro Stock Motorcycle, Competition Eliminator and mostly Pro Street. I also tuned His Highness Sheik Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani's Al Anabi Racing twin turbo Top Sportsman Mustang to the 2009/2010 Arabian Drag Racing League Championship as well as Bahrain's EKKANOO Racing turbocharged Supra to the BDRC 2009/2010 Outlaw 6 Cylinder Championship. In 2003-2005 and again in 2007 I was the chief tuner on Ed Thornton's twin turbo 57 Chevy drag car with which we won the PSCA Pro Street Championship in those years. Currently I am working with Gary Soulages, a twin turbo 4.6L Ford Modular engine in a Lightning Pickup which runs Outlaw 10.5 in PSCA and WCHRA, Derrol Hubbard who runs a Nitrous assisted Nova in WCHRA Drag Radial and Scott Oksas who runs a twin turbo small block ford powered Mustang in PSCA and WCHRA Pro Street.

More information is available at my website at http://www.fastmotorsports.com/consulting/eficonsulting.htm (http://www.fastmotorsports.com/consulting/eficonsulting.htm) or you can find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tuned-By-Shane-T/115086445192065?v=info (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tuned-By-Shane-T/115086445192065?v=info)

Thank you for your interest.

I got my start in Land Racing through my client John Rains. He is a longtime LSR competitor and he is also a longtime MoTeC user. I met John back during my tenure at MoTeC and he had always said he would like to try and have me out to the salt to see what new things we could come up with to make his car faster. Well he brought me to the salt last October and we were able to set a record but we did not reach our goal of going 300 MPH. This season John completely rebuilt the car with all new wiring and all new electronics but we had some misfortunes and we not able to make a decent run. In the mean time, I was contacted by the Enzo team and I was also contacted by the Lucas Oil team of Roger Lessman. While I was on the salt I met up with a small team who were struggling with their MoTeC setup. Fuzzy Logic racing's Paul and Zoe Ann Stivers. So I am looking forward to returning to the salt in 2011 and building my client base.

If you followed the World Finals thread you would know that Shane is the tuner on the RSL Racing Enzo Ferrari that took the C/BFMS record just last Saturday.

Well I hope that shines as a beacon to all of those aspiring baseball players out there, if you havent got the talent to play baseball for a living like me, you can still have a shot at tuning race cars.

Many thanks to John Spillane and the truly inspiring, often impersonated never duplicated, "Wonderful Weed".

I have seen the man at work and he wasn't even there. He can make your Motec car faster and work better.

I remember geting tech support from you Shane a few years back when you were at Motec.  I also lived in HB for 2 years doing some contract work there - never did get a chance to look you up though.

Welcome to the salt!!!  There aren't a lot of us EMS tuners out there, thus many opportunities.   Bonneville hooked me like no other motorsport.  It's good to have you out there,

-Scott

Shane's one of the best; and he's also the least Socratic of the top tuners in the country (just my opinion).   He'll happily help the little guy just as quickly as he'll work for the most wealthy racer.  I think a big part to his success is his social skill.   I know a handful of guys I consider truly good tuners, and most of them are hermits who can't interface with other people at all.  That's what separates Shane from the rest.  Also, owning a dyno does NOT make a person a good tuner.  lol

Guys;

I am truly humbled by some of the nice things you have to say about me and I really appreciate it.

I have come to find Bonneville one of the most challenging and rewarding venues I have ever had the pleasure of working at. Despite the fact that my profession deals in technology in racing, it's kind of neat that "the Salt" has remained a great equalizer from the standpoint that some fellows that are long on talent and short on funds can be equally as successful as heavily funded and technologically advanced teams. That is unique in motorsports usually it works the other way around.

Very cool indeed.
