Title: VINTAGE BIKE CLASS
Post by: FADED on September 13, 2010, 04:24:16 PM
I looked through the rule book and couldnt find what year the vintage break is? Im looking to run a 1973 Triumph. Also if I run a dummy headlight will it be considered partial streamline?

the 2010 book is pretty clear on both those questions..... pre 1956 on year and a headlight would put you into an PS class

My '08 book:

Bottom of Page 109, 7.F.11 Open Class, paragraph 1.

Page 119, 7.J.4 Production Vintage,  "Same as Production but shall have been produced prior to 1956."

Page 120, 7.J.10, Class VG and VF,  "Same as Class G or F, except that class is limited to motercycle engines produced prior to 1956."

I've been known to have to take more than one shot at the book before I found what I was looking for.....  :-D

Kent,
I thought the headlight rule only applied to A bikes not to M.  Did it get changed again?  Last year we could not run a headlight on our A bike but it was still okay on our Buell S1 which runs in modified class.

This is an El Mirage thread. There is no M class at EM...
