Guys,
In the model speed record fraternity, we're considering the use of assistance to get a vehicle "up-to-speed". Could somebody outline the rules as they pertain to the use of pusher vehicles? I assume there's some limit to the speed or distance you can be pushed. Anything else?

Ya, Lee Kennidy told me they don't like the push truck to be faster then the car.

.....or used past the 2

In other words they don't want the race vehicle to slow down after the push vehicle disengages. :-D

You know you've past the limit when you run through the lights, turn out and find your push truck waiting for ya!

Common sense says if it don't fire by the 1/2 mile it probably isn't going to. If you are trying to get to speed by pushing it should be run on the short course from the 1 to 2 mile clock.

Didn't I hear about someone playing with this idea at Elmo a few years ago? Who remembers the story?

I remember it happened at the Bubs meet and won a racer some money....
I for some reason think at Bonneville the "rule" was one mile and watching the While truck push Carl Heap (Green Phoenix truck) up to speed I think they would separate near the one mile flag..Glen..? Anyone?
RIP Carl...you helped me get a few records on my bike not many people know about.

One mile has been the tribal standard as long as I have attended the meets.
