Post by: hombre on August 16, 2010, 08:08:31 AM
Where can I source 18" motorcycle LSR tires?

What speeds do you plan to run? What is the record in your class?

Should go over 200 now... but not up to class record of 240+.

What size tires do you need? Width/aspect ratio front and rear?

Front 120/70, rear 240/40; both in 18" to fit the CF rims.

Currently have ZR tires, but I understand the rules for 200+ will be changing soon.

ECTA does not have a tire rule change coming.  You will be fine with the ZR 240 tires.
I believe these 240 tires are the only tires tested over 270mph.

Thanks, Bill!

While on the subject of bike tires/speed ratings..... class record is below 200, but my concern is the H rating for bikes vs. cars. Bikes are limited to 130mph. while cars may run to, I believe 150mph.

It would seem the tire loading would be less for bikes, even though cars have 2 or 4 mounted.

I have/run: 100/90H19 Avon Roadrunners on the front, 200/60VB16 Avon AM23 on the rear. These are tube type tires, with required metal caps. What speed(s) am I good for ?

Thoughts/ideas appreciated...........                    Morph
