Here is a picture I took today of Miriam Macmillian getting her car ready to run. Everything worked very well as she set a new record.

Obvious question, how was the meet? Other than John Noonan and Miriam that is.
Wanted to run, but tweaked my knee a couple of weeks ago, just getting back to walking normally.

Young Brothers 39 Chevy, runs a GMC 6 for power.
Tom, I did not hear too much on the PA, so the little I did was Noonan had fastest speed of the meet while I was there, Both Hondata's set Records and Miriam's husband got into the dirty two Club. Rick Yaccouri I think set a record in the streamliner with a turbo Flathead by a couple of hundredths. I left by 11:00 AM so I don't know what happened after that. BMR roadster on the run I saw only ran around 125, at least that is what I think they said on the PA. Vintage Hot Rods out of Chico ran slower than last month. I am sure there are other people who can report better than I, as my goal this meet was to take pictures. Sorry to hear about your knee, but glad it is getting better.
PeterJack, glad you like them.

The meet went well and lots of records set, Miriam's other half the current SCTA points shamp Doug got in to the Dirty two's with a 201mph run, Rick ran 239 with the Turbo flathead, our SDRC little Blue Roadster went 161 and got a record
Ralph Leclercq reset the P-P 650cc record with a 164+ run, Ralph has worked very hard on the record run since he first set it back in 2005, good job Ralph, I did see his time slip and noted a tail wind present which is usually reserved for Novemeber.
Wink Eller set a record as well..I am sure Jacks Blue car set a record as well as many more..
Course was same as last meet or perhaps a little better, we had some cloud cover today which really helped as well.

Tom,
Any video or just images?
Any of our bike leaving the line?
John
-
John,
Just still photos. I was on my way down track to take some action shots, then when I went to put my camera on the batteries were dead. ( I hate when that happens) So that ended my shooting for the day.
Tom G.
PS. Check the SCTA site when they get finished posting this week they might have some.
-
No one has a shutter speed fast enough on their camera to get a photo of you. If they did get a photo, it would be just a blur!!! You finished the course before anyone could say "John Noonan" Congrats on your awesome run. I think you need a liner for that engine...............
Tom,

Hey Tom, did you get a new camera or fail to have a car ready to run.
Hi Glen,
No money right now to get the #300 car back out, so I thought I would do something constructive and take pictures with my old camera. I hope this is not too boring, if it is just let me know.
Thanks for asking,
Tom G.

Here is my last picture for the July meet. If you have never been to El Mirage the racers are called in numbers of 25 to report to the starting line. This picture was taken from the pre stage area looking back to the starting line. All these cars and bikes are waiting for their turn to run. If you enlarge the picture, and look all the way to the left you will see an American Flag flying off the Announcers trailer, which is at the starting line.
If you liked these pictures, all I ask is for you to remember Landspeedracing.com, at some point in time during the year, and send them a little money to thank Jon & Nancy for the privilege of letting us having this great site.
Thanks,
Tom G.
PS. For those of you that don't know how to enlarge the pictures all you have to do is click on the picture and a larger screen will come up, then if you click on that picture again it will enlarge once more. Or you can double click the description under the photo and it will bring the picture up in another window.

Tom, I never get tired of pictures. It's almost like being there. Wish I could make all of the meets but it's a 800 mile round trip so I plan on a couple of Elmo's each year and of course the trips to the salt 3 or 4 times a year. Will you be at speed week?
-
Glen,
We miss you at El Mirage, but understand 800 mile round trips. At this point in time I am hoping I can spend a couple of days at Bonneville spectating and taking some pictures. If I am there, I will be sure to look you up.
