Title: question about the $50 additional rider fee??
Post by: Thomas_Cronan on May 26, 2010, 02:32:37 AM
my friend and i are each bringing a bike up, so what i want to know is do we have to pay $50 more to ride each other's bikes or is that fee just for people that did not pay the entry fee?

well on the pre-entry it says $50 each additional driver on the bottom of the form? i just didnt know if that was a way to boost money since there is no membership fee.... just trying to figure how much this trip gonna cost!

I'd like specific clarification on that as well since we have a fleet of bikes that we all share. We have "one each" but would like to know the rules when we swap them around. I thought class changes were handled the same as ECTA so this seems to be a new fee. Additionally, when will this fee be collected? We tend to list at least 4 riders per bike when we register so they are all checked during tech & swapping riders is just a matter of doing the driver change. Will the fee be collected when the driver change is made and do we still need each rider signed on the registration/tech sheet?

Thanks!
Debbie

Our fees for racing at LTA 2010 are structured the same as 2009, we only increased each charge slightly to reflect higher various costs.  As we do not charge an annual membership fee, we feel a fee for each additional driver/rider is a fair method of compensation for the extra driver/rider(s) .We understand the ECTA does not charge for additional drivers/riders, but does in fact require the annual ECTA membership fee to be allowed to drive.  That is probably the only difference between the ECTA and LTA.

If you have any questions, please contact me personally via this email address rather than these public forums  as it may only cause more undue confusion to other racers.  Thanks for your questions and concerns.
