how are you getting oil to the turbo?

I'm using a Shurflo Pump rated at 60 psi - good for 180 Degrees F. Heats not much of a problem, I use an external oiling system (oil reservoir, oil cooler) never gets above 140. However, the bikes only for LSR not the street - the oil pump and fuel pump drain the battery quickly, I usually swap out the battery after 1-2 runs. Oil Pump is mounted behind the battery under the seat, the fuel pump is beneath the carbs behind the oil cooler on the left side of the bike.

The bike looks great Ron. I used to have a CB-160 too.
Questions:
1. Did you do any mods to the carburetors. I can't tell but it looks like they are blow-through.
2. How much boost?
Also, for BUB, make sure you have fire shielded fuel lines. I see some plastic lines there. Braided stainless works too.

How did you do at Maxton recently? I saw a photo of you running, the Honda looks great.
Any problems? Solutions?

Best time was only 74.14 mph. BUT - I have a lot of excuses( ha-ha :-D). I had ordered an Innovate LM-2 Wideband O2 monitor, but didn't get a chance to use it before I ran at Maxton. So I had to run the bike really rich, needed to change plugs after every 2 runs. Also, had some clip ons that didn't get put on, so I was very upright when I ran (tuck almost non-existent). Bike wasn't geared correctly and I didn't have the sprockets I needed with me. Had a lot of trouble finding the 44 year old jets I need for the carbs, so I did the best I could with what I had.
Looking to run again in Sept and Oct at Maxton with hopefully better results this time. Decided to dump the stock carbs and ordered some new PE22 Keihin's, that at least can get jets for. Now I need to make new manifolds for the carbs and modify the plenum since the old ones won't work. Did get the clip on's installed and remeasured my frontal area with a better tuck and reduced it by 28 percent. Now have a better selection of sprockets that I can experiment with. Did finally get the LM-2 working and recording, so tuning should be easier now. I need to get this all sorted out in 36 days, since I plan on going to BUB.
But, I had a lot of fun and a very nice time. Met a lot of nice folks and look forward to giving it another try when it's not quite as HOT.

Don, I was getting 8 PSI boost, but for some unknown reason I only produced 6 PSI at Maxton. Perhaps too much fiddling around and not the correct setup? Yep, it's a blow through and actually works quite well. I tried to seal up the old carbs as best I could. Thanks for the reminder on the vacuum lines to the carb bowls, I fire sleeved everything in sight in preparation for BUB but I didn't do those vacuum lines from the plenum to the carb bowls. They do get some residual gas in them at times, so I will sleeve them as well. As I mentioned in the previous post I've ordered some new PE22 Keihin carbs that I hope help tuning and performance.

I think you did well just passing tech and making runs down the course with the first event for your turbo. You will no doubt make improvements, get it sorted and set records. Your Honda has a lot of character and stands out amongst a crowd of late model bikes.

why are you running a fuel pump on the set up? might be a dump question but got me thinking.
also what are you running for ignition?

I am running a small FACET fuel pump good for 10-11psi. I needed the fuel pump since the boost pressure actually slows/stops the flow of gas to the carbs. So I have a boost adjusted 1:1 Mallory regulator that increases the fuel pressure as the boost rises. I set the initial fuel pressure at 2 psi or so and the regulator does the rest.
Right now I'm running the stock point setup, but I plan on putting in a pertronix electronic ignition setup before I go to BUB.
I'm using a RHB31 Turbo (the smallest I could find).

Thanks Eric, yep I'll be back in Sept & Oct for more attempts (assuming the bike still running after BUB :roll:). Great meeting you and all the other folks, seems like we were in line together a lot at the starting line in the 96 degree heat!
