I noticed that the jet powered standup guy had a water box following him. If you didn't check out the 2009 video click on the Probe(?) in the right column.

Too cold for me,

It looks like the fellow on the Hayabusa was riding into a blizzard.  Man, that must be cold.  It is amazing that he could do it.

I rode just before the Busa in the snowstorm, and saw absolutely nowt at 80 mph. Either he eats a lot of radioctive carrots or he has a IR night sight ! It will be interesting next season to see him officially take the outright world record .

These guys have me thinking nostagically.... the city in which I live in Canada (Vernon, British Columbia- area population c. 60,000) has a winter carnival every year...... this past February was like the 63rd Annual.... there are several lakes in close proximity to the city. As part of the carnival, they used to have an ice racing event on one of the smaller lakes that was shallow enough and would get cold enough to freeze... the lake itself would have an area and length similar to El Mirage, actually. I built a roll cage many years ago for an erstwhile competitor. We got talking about top speeds attainable. He was all about me bringing th Vega up and running it on the ice!.... It was only ever talk though.... becaue, in about the early 1990s, the winters got milder and the ice was not dependable enough for it to be able to support motor vehicles ....the event was cancelled and has never been re-instated...

Now, seeing this.... it is too bad we never did it .... even just once!
