Title: MI Tech
Post by: 116ciHemi on February 09, 2010, 10:33:47 PM
Alright Slim, I should be uo there next fall. I just got word that I got a full tuition AFROTC scholarship for any state school and MI tech is the only one I can get full room and board for also. So, that's where I will be going.

Good for you Walt.
Mich Tech is a fine engineering school.

Cept for the girl population.....or lack there of.
You certainly won't be distracted.

Send me a note about some parts for CVH

We will see. I am extremely excited about it. Also, I am newer to this forum, so I guess I kinda put this in the wrong place. If anyone wants to move it, please do.

Don't let Rick scare you (about men/women ratio, that is).  Yes, when I went to Tech in the late 60s there were about 18-20 men for each woman -- and some of those women were of questionable desirability.  I believe nowadays, though, that the ratio is very close to 1:1.  There must be one or two that'll meet your criteria for company during your stay in Hoton.

Geez, the Web Elf went there, just a year or two before Jon Wennerberg.  Yup, it was 19:1 back then.

My oldest girl went to Oregon State the year before last.  She was in class and I wandered about while I waited for her.  Into the engineering building I went.  There were more female engineering students than men based on what I saw.  Times change.

I am bringing my own girl. She's not what you would call a girlfriend however. More of a good friend. We take machining together, and she is a year ahead of me in drafting. She can break a piece of machinery with her thoughts from all the way across the shop.

She probably wouldn't get in it. Most girls won't.

Very possible. But girls seem to see it two way: "aww, how cute" and "that thing looks like a deathtrap". I did once get asked if it had a hemi.  :-D

"that thing looks like a deathtrap".

I used to have a bumper sticker on my first MG - it read

"Real men prefer deathtraps" :-D
