have Todd & Debbie been hiding? Ok, some of you are probably happy we got lost... hehehe... but we're just about back to normal & back in circulation.
We had an unexpected, unplanned for home relocation. Nothing negative here, it turns out our local "dream house" that we've stalked for the last 4 years suddenly came available to us! It had been on the market for some time but extremely overpriced. So, we just continued to drive on by hoping that someday... Well, as luck turns out, rather then sell they decided to put it up for rent and that WAS in our price range! Better yet, why not give it a test drive to see if we really like it before laying out all that money on a home purchase! So, as quick as the "for rent" sign went up, I was all over that Realtor like bees on honey! Well the stalking paid off and they chose us as their renters! Ironically after we signed the paper & met the owners son, it turns out he's a past customer of ours! The house was built in 1971 by a builder as his own home so it's very well built as you might expect! It's got all the charm of a 1970's built house but that also makes it fun! Well this all occurred in the month of November so we basically had 2 weeks to pack our tons of junk & relocate! I'm just about done unpacking the last room that needs unpacked & set up. Then comes the hanging of pictures and last is the long term project of the office & the paperwork! Bleck! At least I now have a dedicated office! Oh yeah, and speaking of office, we moved the office from the shop to the home and rebuilt the office room at the shop into an engine build room so yeah, there was that moving, cleaning building as well!
So, here's a bit of the house & I'm sure you can figure why we were stalking it! We were all crammed in a 3 floor 3 bedroom townhouse with our bike overflow at the shop!

So that's that. We're tired, we're broke, we're just about done & ready to get on with life and get back to business. :-D
With all that being said... if you've sent us an email, pm, txt, phone message & you didn't get a response, I apologize and hope you understand that we crammed a whole lot of stuff into a short period of time. We've got a couple responses pending from this past week that we'll try to get out quickly. Beyond that, if you still need an answer contact us again because we're getting back to normal & back in circulation!
Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays!

Man-o-man, that house is so big that the weather in front is different from what's on the side (by the garage). Do you live part in the far north, part in the sub-tropics?
Nice house -- gotta find an excuse to visit you. For that matter, though, you still oughta come up and visit us.

Deb & Todd.
I am so happy for you, what a great home. Sure hope you can get the option to buy it. Have a great year, go fast and safe.

There is actually some room in the shop for customers bikes now. :)
You should have seen the move.
Here is a picture of Deb in the back of my truck on moving day.

SUPER CONGRADULATIONS .That is truly at dream house.

After seeing Todd's shop I think the garage would always be like this. His shop is cluttered but VERY CLEAN and ORGANIZED! My wife is not allowed to see this thread.
-
Dee and I are available for adoption.

That is a big garage. You could live in it and keep the bikes in the house. There is space for a lot of them in there.
-
Welcome back kids, glad to see you are alive and well, and living in new digs. Tell Todd not to wade that deep into the snow, love his red coat.
Great little Roadster, Linda has a dark grey one, 3.0 and stick. Only drives it when she can put the top down and the music up. Little thing drives like its on rails...
Love the new house, nice garages.....
See ya on the salt 8-)

Good to hear from you two. Nice place! How about a sublet on the North 40?

Todd and Deb,
Cool House,, great garage space !!! 5 doors,,,, awesome....
Make sure you get a first option to purchase, or some sort of lease purchase down the road. I know you are glad to be in the house now, but as soon as you can do everything to secure the right to purchase when you and the seller are ready.
Enjoy the new place,
See you in April

Big snow drifts Jon, you know about that don't you? :-D
Yeah, a visit is still on the radar. I may have to send Todd while I stay home & finish the books for taxes. I'm a bit behind this year! :-(

Mike
I hear ya! The rec room with the tables & TV & all was completely empty when we started. In just a few weeks we managed to acquire all the stuff to fill it! Craigslist, Christmas upgrades & friends leftovers served us well!
Luckily the whole top of the attached garage is a walk up attic! We've got it about half full and about half of that will slowly be widdled down & trashed as I have time to weed through it.

HAHAHAHA! Major thanks to Joel & the boys!!!! They are super hard workers and I don't know how we would have gotten the move done without them!!

What, you didn't like my red hat?

Sweet! She must have a fun daily driver too?
This is now my daily driver so the fact that it's the 2.5 & the auto with Sport & manual option works just fine for me. The 2.5 gives me "better" gas mileage and will hopefully keep my leadfoot from getting me in too much trouble! The manual shift give me the option to slam it down a gear if need be so I'm cool with that. I just love the fact that you don't need to use the brakes unless there's an actual reason to stop! It just hugs the corners & keeps on going! FUN!!! Can't wait for warm weather so I can go topless!!! This is definitely the next best thing to 2 wheels!
Looking forward to the salt! :-)

There's a law in VA that they are required to give us, as the current renters, first option to buy. The house is fully paid off and has sat empty for a few years so you can say they're not in a rush to sell. The lady that owns it I think is in her 90's. We deal with her son who is also a contractor, the husband/father is deceased. The son/owner have a "long term" plan of yearly upgrades, for the tax benefits, so we'll ride it out a little while and see what we think of the place while we allow him to do some home improvements. The first of which is replacing the heat pump/air in the next few weeks. As far as I know it's still the original 1970's unit. We're working well with the son and the owner seems pleased that we're happy with the retro feel of the house and not wanting major changes. So far its a win win so we'll ride it out & see how it goes. If we decide we'd like permanency I feel confident we can approach them about a purchase or rent to own option. For now we're loving it hope we don't have to move anytime soon. (moving stinks & we have to wait until everyone forgets how much it stinks before we do it again! hahahaha)
Thanks everyone for the congrats & well wishes!

Very nice! Congrats on the new digs!

Superior reason to drop off the radar - congrats. I would complement your exercise equipment but I prefer the bowflex system. It holds way more clothes.

Relaxedfit
Your right about the Bowflex.
That's the highest price clothes rack i got!!

So that's what that thing is in my spare room under all those clothes
I always thought it was an odd shaped clothes rack
Don't worry about the house, nice garage.

Nice digs, guys. As you will soon learn, no matter how big the shop is it will not be big enough. I'm looking to add a loft to mine as I have enough height to make use of it.
I do not like renting - I always feel like I'm living in someone else's house. Hope you can work out a way to make this your own. As a home owner for something like the past 40 years or so I heartily recommend it. I was just fishing around in my skull trying to remember how many houses it's been now -- well, it's a LOT. Not as many as Keith, but a LOT.
Best of luck and great happiness
Dan
