Hey, If I install one of these dynatek fi controllers on my 06 88 inch dyna, and I'm wanting to run in the stock production class, will this be ok? I'm run after market pipes, K&N air cleaner, and remap. What say you? Thanks Rich

Cant run the pipes in production.

A Power Commander is easier to tune--at least for me as a dyno operator. Can do changes live. You can access an array of base maps on the PC website and make changes similar to the Dynatek one. I just feel they have more flexibility.YMMV.

Hey, It's me again. Sounds like I need to get into the BUB rule book and read up. I don't really want to run the stock exhaust on my Dyna. Also the reason I was interested in the dynatek fi control, was so I could adjust fuel manually, as I don't have a laptop to do the remapping via computer. I think I am thinking old fashion, what do you do. Thanks for the info. Later Rich

Great idea, knowing the rules for classes is the best way to start. Bub rules are on line, follow the link from the home page of this site.

Run your bike in the "Run what ya brung" class and nobody will care what pipes are on it, same salt on the same day and timing is official as well not to mention the entry fee is less as well.
Good luck and go fast!!

There's some good advice!

As said you cannot run aftermarket pipes and the air cleaner has to look exactly like stock so you must have the factory chrome cover on it.

hey, it's Rich again. Really appreciate all the help. I'm a little standoffish about the run what you brung class, as there are so many fast bikes, my dyna has lots of cubic inches, and a 6 speed to boot, my top speed is really not impressive. But, that sounds like the best way for me to get started. Can't wait to get on the salt again. Thanks again. Rich

Rich, you have lots of time, you could run in modified. Do a little engine work, heads, pistons, rods, cam....
Send a PM to NRHS.... tell him how fast you need to go.
