Title: 126.2 mph powered by the wind
Post by: peglegcraig on August 15, 2009, 11:39:37 AM
I was surfing around the web and found this rather amazing record. A very advanced landsailing "boat" set a new world record out in Primm NV. March 26th 2009. Powered by a 40mph wind, the wing mast vehicle acheved 3X the wind speed and a top speed of 126.2mph.

If they would have brought it to SW09 on Thursday, they would have gotten a Red Hat.  :-D

Just kidding of course.  It was tech day, and the winds were impressive.

That is really amazing.

I understand the huge Monster Energy tent may have been a contender on Thursday.  Creel said it crossed I-80 never to be seen again.  Coulda been headed south to Primm.
