What class would this go in(please) 1934 Ford pickup, no fenders,
standard top, no hood (hi boy style) with flathead V8, dual carbs and offenhauser heads
etc,, Would I need roll bar and seat as in rule book. Any help

TO/TO and you'll need a Cage and everything else in the rulebook for safety.

I have no problem adding safety items, but I am limited to
structural changes.
I just need to know if there is a class for this truck as is(mainly
that it is fenderless)

Perhaps you could petition the org to make you your own class?
It could be FFF (Fenderless Ford Flathead) and you could run it in the TO class and at Maxton you could run up to the AA engine class as well. :-D
Or you could just bring it to Bonneville and cruise it around and get salt all over it and then park in front of the Nugget..

What class is the Corvette going to fit in to?
What "World" record do you hold with said car?

There is no class for your FFF mobile, you will have to make several changes to it to make it fit a particular class to run in, if a record is not import then you can make a few small changes (all safety related) and bring it on out.

Since you are local come on down to El Mirage and speak with the Car/Truck inspectors and see what they say about your "class"
We will be there with a large trailer just ask anyone where we are..usually in impound after a run sometimes, if you need help look on the rulebook cover, those are two of our vehicles one of them will be there I know. :cheers:

Let's see . . .
First he wanted a roadster or a coupe.
Then GMC speed equip.
Then GMC or Buick 8 engine.
Now wants to know about a flathead pickup.
Maybe a Rule Book would be a good investment -- complete with pictures (I think the guys on the cover pay for the privilege) and general answers to his questions.

I am sorry if I disrespected anyone, I did not mean it that way. I was just looking
for a simple answer. I do have a rule book but saw no such animal listed-still
learning. The roadster the guy backed out, thats ok. The gmc I had one in a
street racer back when, love those things, I would put one in my vet if I
could, the flathead pickup is a friends that volunteered for chase vehicle and
was curious to run it while it was there, nothing more. building motor for next
class for vet, hope to be out after speedweek, you'l recognize it, its the red one.

Unfortunately I don't believe there is a Class for the pickup. I suspect your Motor is XXF, with the Offy Cylinder head,but since the truck is older than 1946 you can't get into the standard pickup classes, You will have to look at the Vintage section. I do remember back in 2000 a guy brought a beautiful chopped 34 Pickup to Muroc, had to run Time Only. Best bet is to hit up Roy Creel, the Vintage Category Chair for a review. He's in the Rulebook page 167.
also go to the SCTA web site, print out the inspection sheet and go over the vehicle it tells you what the inspectors are looking at and what section of the rulebook applies to that line Item. It will save a ton of grief.

I still want to know what record breaking Corvette and how fast it went. We claim fastest stock bodied chevy. Very interested in seeing the vette. :cheers:

I think we will shuttle the old truck and go with
public transportation (my GMC pickup)

Nothing keeps you from running the GMC in a Corvette. A 302 fits nicely in D class.

A few years ago I tried to run a 256 GMC with a Howard head in E/FMR. No go. Had to run in XXO/FMR
I was told. Don't know about Mod Sport as they have no X or XX classes.

Or you can bring the old PU to WoS and run it in the 130 club.... Minimum safety equipment and changes, link to USFRA on home page of this site.
