Sparky called a little while ago and told me he ran a 223 on a 220 minimum at El Mirage today that should get him in the "Dirty 2 Club". Congrats Sparky on a great 3 months.
In August late in the week at Speed Week after a required checkout run on his lakester to see if the handling problems he had been having had been taken care of he made 2 passes and got what we think is the highest 200 MPH Club average at 299.642 mph for his "Red Hat". He also averaged 303.926 in the last mile of the backup run for what we think is the first ever 300+ mph run for a naturally aspirated lakester on gas.
In Sept. at World of Speed he again made two runs and upped his AA/GL record to 305.277 for entrance into the 300 MPH Chapter and a "Blue Hat".
Now with today's run he gets his third hat and membership into the "Dirty 2 Club". 5 runs and 3 records and 3 hats. Quite impressive Sparky and congrats to a great land speed racer,

Hey, it's great to hear, Bill (a/k/a Sparky). Nancy and I had the pleasure of meeting him four or five years ago (when he still lived in Texas) -- and knowing him ever since, talking with him, paying attention to his "learning curve", and best of all -- remembering the incident that got him his nickname. He's one heck of a racer, and I couldn't be happier to hear he got himself a hat at EM. Good on you, Sparky. Nancy and I send our hearty congratulations.

Got his "Dirty 2 Hat" (Maroon in color..) :cheers:
I saw him at inspection and after his run, he was extremely happy!
He called it the best "Hat Trick" ever, three hats in three races.. 8-)
Congrats! and great to see you, need anymore "help" on the "chute" let me know.. :-D

Congrats Sparky. Hopefully you will not put your car up for sale and make an exit like a lot of guys do......However if you did, there would be one less person in line I'd be waiting for :-D.

The actual "official" color of the El Mirage 200 MPH club, the Dirty Twos, is Merlot.
My wife pickeed the color to match her favorite wine.

Well I stand by my"When I grow up I want to be just like you :cheers:" statement! Awesome Job enjoy the wonderfull achievements you have done this last couple races! Nice job Sparky!! Everytime I see you setting a record it takes me back to the time at Speedweek 2007 where you guys got the car "tuned" right in the pits... what a long way you've come since a 50mph pass, eh??
