does anyone know if Leslie Porterfield has set a new record at BUB

She backed up her 231mph mile run with a 233.184 which will net her a 232 FIM/AMA record in MPS BF 2000!!!"

I don't believe the 1650-2000cc area is known to be an easy place to make these bikes live, so congrats to Scott Horner and Heads Up Performance on making it live long enough & be strong enough for the runs. And congrats to Leslie Porterfield and High Five Cycles for squeezing every bit out of it on the course to grab this record.

I peaked at your profile & noticed your email is at skinzwraps.com. Is your company the maker of that interesting wrap
that Leslie's bike is sporting? The pic posted above shows it pretty well. It had an interesting golf ball like effect.
Very intriguing. I have no clue if it helped but it sure looked clean!

PS: in regards to Leslie's record, she made the runs and the time however she'll need to complete final certification of the
bike/engine for the record to be official. They're not new to record setting so there's no reason to think they won't pass
but it's still not a done deal until the paperwork is complete! I believe it will all be finalized at the end of the meet tomorrow
if not sooner. (if it's not already so)

Congrats to Leslie and Scott for putting together a great bike and riding the hell out of it!!! This could not of happened to two better people, they are both class acts.

No, we just cut her numbers plates for her bike as a favor for Al Lamb. (we wrapped his AL LAMB HONDA transporter). I saw on this sight that she broke the record last week and figured you guys would know, so I posed the question....as for the polkadots, it is probably just a fashion statement. With the races now over, I will revisit in 09

I'm going to have to get the wrap redone on the trailer! Someone's easy-up crashed into it.
I also set a record on the 1000 p-p with the 08 CBR1000 at 192.9!!

Congrats on the 1000cc record! I heard you were nipping at someone's heals but hadn't heard the end result! Bummer about the trailer wrap!

I just got off the phone with Delvene Manning, reporting to her that the promised run logs and records (pending or certified) and prize winners from the Bub's meet -- still have not shown up in my email inbox.
She was filling her vehicle with fuel in Winnemucca when I spoke to her, so I doubt I'll get any email 'til she's at home (which should be late tonight) and has a chance to catch up. In other words, tomorrow at the earliest.

For those that may not know Leslie recorded a top speed on the GPS unit of 196.1 mph so the MV team better watch out... :wink:

Funny thing is, there is no photoshop magic going on here. Other than cropping out the other witches Leslie was leaving in her wake, the photo is real.
On the last day of the event, (Sunday, on our way to the starting line for our final run) we saw Leslie and a couple of others dressed in full race gear sporting brooms and jumping up and down in unison while someone else was snapping pictures. It took a second for me to realize what they were trying to do. After a half dozen snapshots we finally got some really good ones.
I met Leslie and Al Lamb on the salt a couple of times now, both fun, great people. I'm not so sure I like the food they eat, however. Before Leslie flew away screaming some wicked laughter, she offered me a bite of her sandwich. I declined because Tail of a bat, ear of a dragonfly, eye of a newt sandwiches are not to my liking... :-D

I may run the triple next year, it was the only set up that could get my big butt up to competitive speed. Maybe I will try a turbo..... :-D

As with anything else we do this "activity" grew. At Speedweek, I had Britt, one of our crew guys take the pic of me and the magic broom. Others were in line to do it next when they saw the outcome (photo) because you look alittle silly doing it. We then convinced the reluctant ones next. It was a problem because we only had one magic broom. The film crew from discovery also got in on the action!
Knowing we were back for Bub, I seached out and found two more "magic" brooms to bring so we could have some fun together. On Sunday John and I were taking some early morning pics of his bike (my old one) in our leathers. Upon completion I thought it would fun to TRY to ride the brooms suited up. About that time Leslie rolled up and joined in. That is when the curiosity of the ACK crew got the best of them and they wanted to know WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING! After a glimpse of the end product they ran to get their cameras. This is when Rocky got his pic.
The Bat was hanging in our pit that morning and was not feeling all that well. Leslie fed that bat some water for a 20 minutes and he jumped up made 4-5 laps of the pit and disappeared. Noonan found a bat under his cover a few days before, maybe the same one. Rest assured Rocky, Leslie nursed the bat back to heath and didn't serve him for lunch.
Just as a side note, Leslie will be Colin Edwards Umbrella Girl today at the Moto GP @ Indy :cheers:

The bat was real and was under one of the bikes when we arrived that morning. We thought he was injured or sick, but it appears he was just dehydrated.

I knew those broom pictures were going to make there way here somehow! Now everyone knows what we're up to for next year. I think we can convince someone to make a class for brooms 8-)

It was great to see you there! Indy was fun. Those guys are tough. That was a lot of rain and wind. I missed Laguna this year for the first time in years. It was great to have another race in the states to go to!
