I plan on arriving at the track Friday afternoon. Since my car is brand new I am hoping to get tech inspection and my rookie orientation done that day. I have heard it is ok to leave my trailer at the track overnight so as not to have to drage it around all weekend to hotel and back ?
Also is there a particular ECTA hang out around the Supper Hour? Like to meet and mingle if welcome?
Thanks

Yup, it's fine to leave your stuff at the track.. There are quite a few ECTA folks that camp out there -- so your stuff will have folks nearby. You might consider locking the trailer the first time you're there -- and after that you'll know if your personal comfort level requires you to lock it again.
As for supper -- it's pretty common for us to gather at some eating place. Ask around as the day goes on -- check with Donna and Tonya in the registration trailer since they'll often know if there's a designated joint for that night. It's also not uncommon for us to gather around the pool Saturday evening at the Pine Acres for either Jerry's bar-be-que or maybe some pizza. Again -- ask at the track. Let's see -- other places we eat include the Mexican place in Laurinburg, the Greek restaurant where they specialize in Italian food, and once in a while the Golden Coral buffet place. There are quite a few restaurants in the town -- these are some of the ones where we go more often than the others. See you there.

Thanks SSS, I will be at the Scotland Inn, it is near the Jameson and Hampton. Nearby the Golden Corral and the famous Smithfield BBQ.. Hope to see you Friday afternoon.

Speaking of the June event -- and all of the comments that have been offered about the weather -- here's a cut-and-paste from the Nat'l Weather Service forecast. It doesn't go all the way to next weekend, but it gives you an idea of what to expect:
"Monday Through Wednesday...Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 90s. Lows around 70."
Take sunscreen, coolers full of sport drink, chairs and some shade.

Thanks SSS, Looks like we are going to have fun. Oh by the way, we got the car running and 99% of the bigs worked out. Hope to test drive it tomorrow or Saturday. Even have a local airport with a 5000 ft runway that may let me take a few passes Sunday afternoon,,, not certain but we are working on it.
See you next weekend.
