Title: Difference between SCTA and ECTA ?

I have just sent my ECTA membership form in and I don't have a rule book yet. I plan on being at Maxton in April for my first ECTA meet. Last year I raced at El Mirage and Bonneville Speedweek. My questions are... Will my SCTA prepared bike meet all ECTA specs? Are there any differences? Will I receive my new rule book prior to the April race?
Any response will be appreciated.

Wow, no reply on this? I am sure someone on this board can anwser the mans question. I sure would like to know. :-)

My guess will be the SCTA legal vehicle will be legal for ECTA. However a prepared ECTA vehicle using all the available rules will not pass SCTA (meaning bikes).. Make sense... Its a hard question.

RC, front brakes are not required on the salt, but highly recommended on all the paved courses...

ECTA is a bit stricter about safety wiring; Oil filter, drain and fill plugs come to mind. And, yes, you will want a front brake.

The ECTA rules started out as a copy of the SCTA rules. Not a bad place to start. Over time the ECTA rules have evolved to meet the needs of the ECTA and have some variation. So your bike will probably be fine, but you really need a rule book.

Well, I must say, the ECTA moves pretty fast. I just got a 2007 rulebook in the mail. This will be a big help in getting my bike prepared for the April meet! It came with my membership card and a note about the other forms and 2008 rulebook that will come later.
Thanks to Tonya and everyone else involved...that was faster than I expected.

Our rules are very very similar.  minor adjustments to certain rules due to location (concrete runway -vs- dirt lakebed).  The 2007 book will take care of just about everything and if it isn't covered, ask your question and many on this board will give you the proper direction to go in.
