As I'm trying to get prepped for running the 23rd at Maxton I see the rule book says I need some safety wiring done. Could someone please describe or direct me somewhere online where I might find the correct procedure for doing safety wiring. I did some searching here and didn't come up with any results. I know it's not as simple as twisting a bread tie.
Thanks!

Actually it is. You need to procure some steel, .020 or .032 wire. Stainless wire will not rust as fast. Pass wire though the safety wire hole you drilled, twist wire, 12-15 twists per inch, pull in the tightening direction and wire to the other hole you drilled. You can wire fastener to fastener, fastener to case. Hope this helps

Stainless,
Thanks, and I'm getting you so far. I've always wondered how you terminate the twist properly. I also need some more explanation on what you mean by "fastener to case." Not clear on that part, but I do understand "fastener to fastener."
Thanks again!

Way to go PJ, pictures are much better than my memory.
Guess I forgot that the termination is just more twists and then tuck it in so it doesn't snag your finger later. You can wire to anything stationary (with a hole in it). the idea is that the wire keeps the fastener from backing out when it gets loose. Kinda like locktite that you can see...
