Title: Free ride
Post by: Richard Thomason on December 29, 2006, 12:10:15 AM
If anyone is wonderinging why I have been so vorcirous as of late, it is because that Jon promissed me a chance to run his scoot at Speed Week if I hit 100 posts by the 1st of the year. I'm looking at all the leathers criteria and everything else that it will take for me to be back on a scoot again. Don't know if anyone else would know what it is, but I am a charter member of the "Phantom Duck of the Desert Club". I have the t-shirt and the whole 9 yards.

Well I don't know if riding in the desert with Lois McKey  and riding Jon's bike down the salt is quite the same thing, but you only have 4 posts to go, so go for it,

Hey Richard, Have at it buddy, If you can fit on my bike you can ride it anytime. You might be out of the aero bubble, then again you may be the aero bubble.

Now where the heck do I change the date on this board before you get that 100 posts.

Jon

Sounds like there's a story behind this one. I bet you can fullfill your last 4 posts to get you over 100 by telling it!  :-D

Google "Phantom duck of the desert" and you'll discover that you're asking about Louis McKey, you'll learn about the Barstow to Las Vegas run/race/ride, and more stuff, too.

I didn't see how that relates to Richard, though, but then -- I didn't take too much time to look into it.  My head is still spinning from trying to figure out the overbore rule.

I'm guessing it's his way of saying he's being rebellious, he has a history of being rebellious and that he's being a post whore to get over 100 posts.
But that's all just my speculation. I'm sure he'll come back and straighten us out.

Jon, when last heard from, you were neck deep in snow.  Did you ever make it out of the driveway?  Inquiring minds want to know.  The checks in the mail..............Lets all help make Landracing.net even better for the new year.  Happy New Year to all..........

Jon, Im' usually on the bubble so I might as well be the bubble. Also, your GMT time stamps will probably be enough to mess me up anyway.

I can make one more post legit for you, how did the shape of your liner evolve?  Post it on whatever relevant streamlining thread and I'll catch it.  Thanks

Hey Richard
I have a set of all leather leathers that will fit.
Hell they are big enough to fit anybody.
Lattin's kid is wearing them in vintage flat track events and my name on the back is doing purty good.
I never take off my bullet proof vest so you will need your own.

Since I'm now over the magic 100 posts number, I can tell you that I'm heading out to the shop to resume my wrist curls [32" bar (still has Oury grips) with 25# weight with 36" rope] to have the strength required to twist the throttle BOTH open and closed on Jon's bike.

Richard
It will be your white knuckles that need the most work.

A little shoe polish on the knuckles and I'll be the only one that knows.

Congrats on attaining your goal, Richard.

However, there is plenty of time to back away (gracefully) from the prize! LOL

Remember what you have always said: IF in doubt, click it off!

Best Regards to you and yours for a wonderful 2007 and beyond.

Same goes for everybody else, too.

thanks Harold, but a goal is simply a moving target. Wouldn't want to quit just because a goal or target is reached.
