That's it. You could run with Rocky and Guy in 2022 on the best land speed track in the world. Richard is a great engineer. He went 320+ MPH in 1999 on a rocket powered sit on bike. Like a lot of us he is well past his Best If Used By date and is looking for a younger rider.

Here is a link to Richards 1999 open bike attempt.

This appears to be the 1999 sit on bike in that video. Wow.

ME ME ME!

this is the rocket powered streamliner Richard used for the 320+ runs at Bonneville, the sit on bike was before and used on airfields in England.
the new racer got a small jet engine installed. both rocket racer are on display in the national motorcycle museum, close to Coventry/Birmingham
this picture shows the Gillette Mach III streamliner.......!!!!
-
AFAIK the 1999 322mph run was a streamliner (the Gillette Mach 3 Challenger).
But Malcolm UK probably has the full story - he was there, I think.
-
Yes, of course you are correct, it names the Gillette Mach 3 Challenger in the article. I read sit on bike somewhere and got all excited when I saw that pic.
