Thanks for the update Louise, it is very helpful for me, and at least there's still a glimmer of hope.
I saw from a video the Mike Crawford posted on FB showing the racing surface and area still completely under water.
That's seems a little late in the year for that much water, but we still have 3 months. I have my fingers crossed.

I hope ya'll read past the title and lead-in;
"Salt Lay Down No Bonneville Salt Flats Threat
April 13, 2017in Blog, land speed racing, Motorsports
Public reports of lay down process causing restoration problems for Bonneville Salt Flats are all false according to scientist conducting salt crust thickness study."
This summary does not agree with the Dr. Bowen's letter.
Nowhere in her letter are found "Public reports.... are all false...".
Dr. Bowen states there is no effect of the Salt Laydown Project ~on her study~ (it's even highlighted).
I'm reminded of Mark Twain's observation;
"There are lies,
Damn lies,
and Statistics."
I would point out there are no statistics in Dr. Bowen's letter.

This article is from January but comments on the Salt Flats. I've never heard of Michael Swensen, a hired lobbyist for the racers. Has anyone else?
