Title: Speedweek 2016 Record Certificates
Post by: ronnieroadster on November 11, 2016, 03:47:22 PM
Would anyone know when the Speedweek 2016 record certificates and any other items related to the record might be coming from the SCTA? Being a rookie at this and one of the lucky few who set a car record at Speedweek I'm looking forward to receiving my winnings.   :-)

WHAT!!!
You had to go to the pay window before you left the track to receive your winnings.   :-D

Sorry, I don't know but I'm sure it will be soon.  8-)

I always tried to send off the timing plaques and record certs right after Thanksgiving. Took that long to get all the signatures and speeds right....but then I don't do it anymore and am very happy whenever I recieve them.

No Certificate or Timing Tag yet, but the trophy is already on Johnboy's shelf....
I'm sure the SCTA can always use more volunteer help....  if folks think the current volunteers are not moving fast enough....
Call them and offer to help

SCTA office phone always seems busy each time i tried calling. However after sending an email to Heather Black yesterday this is what I received from Heather yesterday.
The certs were missing information and we just got that information last week. The error in the system was fixed, and I retyped them this week and will be mailing them out this week.

Our car is going to be on display in a few weeks it would be nice to have the certs and timing tags to go along with the display also no timing tags yet.

This is an old post BUT Im wondering if we can pick up the record certificates which have not been recived from last years Speedweek this year at Speedweek?  Anyone know? Hate to be a PITA still asking about this but it took a heck of a lot of effort to get a record it would be nice to have the cert framed and on display for my supporters to see.

Still don't have those certificates for our records set in 2016 at Speedweek Heather did not have them at this years Speedweek when I asked her in person but she sure had a lot of them from 2016 for some reason just not the ones I was looking for!
I followed up on what she told me to do after speedweek this year but still nothing now as of today I'm asking the SCTA President for them lets see if that works.

Well Ronnie, I guess I will have to see about ours as well.  Got a little distracted and didn't pursue our cert and tag at SpeedWeek.
Maybe when they send my safety equipment back they will include the 2016 stuff.

Stainless were not the only ones who have not received the cert's from 2016. Record setters in Montana Pennsylvania and Massachusetts that I know still have not received their cert's or timing tags from 2016 also. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I was informed today no on else has contacted Heather about their missing cert's or tags so if anyone is still waiting expecting one day they will show up without asking it appears that's not going to happen. You have to ask for what you have not received. The best thing to do is send the information from your copy of the record certification sheet from 2016 send the following  The down run MPH The return MPH and the average MPH also the date set and date certified to Heather remember she's a volunteer

Well, here we are , Thanksgiving 2017 , and still no word from SCTA concerning the record certificates . I talked on the phone to some one who said they were being sent out the next week, can't remember who it was , but next week would have been about 6 months ago.
Sent a reminder to the contact portion of the SCTA's home page, today but don't expect much action. They sure didn't waste much time cashing the entry fee check.  :dhorse:

Heather also has a family and a full time job. She has a lot to do and she is doing a good job. After the certs are made they have to be checked and then sent to the board for three people to sign, then they get mailed out. Everyone is a volunteer and it takes time.

Glen, I think 15 months to get this stuff out might be a little excessive.  Last time I talked to Heather was in September, she said she would get my timing tag and certificate out soon...

Ya know, when I was running at BMST for a few years, I was lectured repeatedly that SCTA was really the only game in town that was legit. "only SCTA records really count" "the SCTA is the only properly run organization" yadayadayadayada. I got tired of hearing it.  :dhorse:

Good news at least for me.
I received the 2016 Record certs a few weeks ago. This has been a long journey during which I have learned there's more to this than just sending out some pre printed form. The biggest delay is caused by all the signatures found at the bottom of the cert. To get all those signatures all party's involved need to be in the same place at the same time. So at a board meeting or an event is the best chance for all to be present. Thankfully at the October El Mirage meet all the stars lined up for me at least. I will say I was in contact with Heather and the SCTA president to make this happen a heck of a lot of times prior to the arrival.
Now the wait is on for our 2017 Record cert, trophy and timing tag. At least now I know the process involve so the wait might not be as long once I begin asking where's the cert for 17.   :-)

The only way your going to get the certs is to contact Heather once again and I would also strongly suggest sending an email to the SCTA Pres requesting his help in getting the certs taken care of. To speed things along I sent Heather all of the information found on the records paper work the date of qualifying run and the backup including each speed plus the combined average record speed I did this to help with any missing paper work or what ever.

Can we add the name 2017 Certificates to this thread as I have heard nothing for quite a while.  If we had sponsors they would be a bit disappointed with what we have to show for the hard work in getting the record.  So far only the hand written confirmation from Tech.

We received the timing tag for 2017 , some time ago. waiting to hear from SCTA on the 2016 paperwork,  since we failed to bump the record in 17 , at least we will avoid the heart burn over the 16 SNAFU.
On another subject I have failed to receive any notice about renewal of my club membership, Has the SCTA dropped this ball as well ?  :dhorse:

You need to contact your club about this. The clubs report and pay membership to the association, the association returns cards to the clubs and the clubs distribute them.

I sent another email to Heather a couple of days ago, her reply to my last one said they would go out soon, that was a couple of months ago... haven't heard back on the latest email.

Good to know the 17s are going out to everyone.... I got our 17, still confident the 16 will get here if I ask enough times.

I downloaded the dues renewal form from the SCTA website, when I sent it in I also included a separate page written with a dull sharpie, asking about our 2016 Cert.  I received a call from Joanne Carlson !

She said that for some reason the entire records for 16 never got posted and are some how lost in the ozone.  She said if I could fax her the record certification sheet from our log book she would make something happen.   A trip to the UPS store got that done , NOW lets see if anything happens. I feel pretty good about dealing with Joanne, she gets stuff done !

My suggestion would be to give Heather a phone call and ask her if she can email you a PDF copy of your certificate. That’s what she did for me then I just printed my own. Never did get the original. Good luck.
