Wow. Sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. One class act who will be sorely missed.

Very sad to hear of this :-( :-( :-(
I met Sam in 2009 and followed his story..............I was just talking to my bike-builder and tuner about Sam and the potential for other streamliner-bikes this year. Sam's quiet energy will be missed.

That is really sad news. Sam was just an awesome guy, a real class act. Fond memories of sharing a beer with Sam and his crew in impound back in 96 when he set the 1350 S-G record. Huge loss for the sport.

I am like the others, That got so so close to meeting Sam Wheeler, In January we saw his streamliner at the Grand national Show at Pomona, We looked , And he wasnt to be seen, So we said the , Lets walk by later and see if hes around, Well Later turned into pouring rain and lets get back to the truck and go home ... Never to Meet Sam, GodSpeed Sam, Sorry We missed you, Now everyone misses you!
