Title: Fordboy's Birthday
Post by: Milwaukee Midget on June 28, 2016, 10:40:19 PM
I'm jumpin' this one a day early, as work has kept me away from important things like the Midget - and my friend.  I don't want this to go unheralded . . .

Mark, your Birthday is noted this day, and Mrs. Midget and I wish you the best as the odometer clicks another digit.

Your foresight, experience and discipline drew tight the rigging of a loose ship, and while I received much help from many quarters, it was your patience and mentorship in particular that took the Midget effort from the dream and sweat of a quasi-competent shade tree mechanic to a Bonneville record holder.

I regard our friendship and the company of you and your family as one of the finest gifts a person can have.

Mark, Happy Birthday to you.

Chris

Well said, Chris!  Bravo.  And Happy Birthday, Mark!

(Didn't you two initially get together after an eBay purchase [or is my mind going  ]?)

Thanks to one and all for the birthday wishes!!   Although I'm not sure about how I feel about being eligible for Medicare . . . . . .  I guess it beats sucking dirt

And thanks in particular to Chris C, the "everyman" of MG greatness . . . . .  MG would be nothing without their "enthusiasts" . . . . .

There has been much of my working life that has provided "self-satisfaction", as opposed to say, other rewards.     But I can't think of any experience I have enjoyed more than participating in the "team effort" of "transforming" the Milwaukee Midget from a "valve train flinging frustration", into the current I/GT record holder.    Details matter, but so does vision . . . . . . .

Hey Buddy, as far as more important matters are concerned, only 6 weeks until Oktoberfest is released for 2016!!   Just in time too, my 2015 supply is nearly exhausted.

A - You don't want to get into a pizzing match with him, and

2 - Good luck finding the slow cells . . . Mrs. Fordboy insists  they exist, but I've yet to find any actionable evidence.

Mark, have a nice birthday.  Maybe there are some Maibock beers from the Spring in some forgotten corner so you can stay out of the precious Octoberfest stash.
