Like the past meets, broadcasting will begin after the drivers meeting on Saturday and then around 8:30 AM Sunday.
Links for the stream are at the top of this page, on the lr.com homepage and on bangshift.com
If you have any thoughts, suggestions or comments, please let us know!
I hope you enjoy,
Gregg

cool!
-
Stream is up and running! Racing should begin shortly.
Gregg
-
Gregg, for me it sounds like wind noise and popping. Wayno
-
Gregg - signal sounds a bit overmodulated.
Is it windy today?
I see Dave brought the Mustang up from Louisiana, and the fellow from Racine - damned if I can remember his name - has got the Stude Champion back.
Hopin' Sean doesn't break anything this weekend!
-
Much better. Wayno
-
Thanks for your help Chris!!!
Gregg

Gregg, we're going to make an audio engineer out of you, yet!
I'm poking around on line - does anybody know if there is a pre registry list of who is racing this weekend?
-
Down for a while as a car ran off the end of the track, down the ravine and through the fence about 20 minutes ago. Driver is OK.
Will keep you posted as we might end early.
Gregg
-
Rain has started so I'm outta here for the day.
I'll be back tomorrow around 08:30 AM

I don't know about the audio engineer thing Chris. Remember.....Old dog/New tricks.....LOL! :-D
I did ask Brian about the pre registry and he said there is a partial one on the ECTA website.
They changed the online registration software and that is why it's only partial.

Stream is up and we are RACING!
As usual, I hope you enjoy!
Gregg

Gregg, the sound is fading out and coming back for me. May be my computer. I don't know. :| Wayno
-
I went over to Gus's and it's doing the same thing. This ain't a complaint. I just thought you'd like the feedback. Wayno
-
Wayno, The radio in my car is doing the same thing. It's kinda windy here today so maybe that is affecting the FM antennae. Had kinda the same issue at a meet last year.
Gregg
-
It would appear we lost the final 10-15 minutes.
Sure was good while it lasted.
NBC likes to crow about "Breakfast at Wimbledon"; but I think "Brunch at Wilmington" is a whole bunch better.
Thanks again, Jon and Gregg; job well done!!! cheers
Jim
-
Done for the day and year here in Wilmington.
We'll do it again in 2016.
Gregg
-
Was talking with Brian after the meet ended and he came to the same conclusion/guess that I did.....The wind must be screwing with the antennae/broadcast. He said he will be getting a stronger transmitter before next year so we'll see if that helps.
Gregg
-
Gregg, how far is the suspect antenna from the receiver?
-
Jon, it's probably 10ft.
Gregg
-
Just thought of something Jon (Aw HELL, we're in trouble now!!! LOL!!!)
Let me email Brian and see if I can get a direct feed from his transmitter and not even use my receiver.
Seems like you told me something like that would work.
Gregg
-
It sure oughta work - and should reduce the chances for errors and interference and so on.
But - while it'll for sure work, it might take some farkling to get your stuff to properly interface with his. At Mojave I got a direct audio feed -- but something - impedances, cables, levels, whatevers - made it not work worth a dang so I resorted to other means. Remember that the 'puter isn't necessarily set up to accept a straight audio input signal - so you might have some fiddlin' to do.
The moral of the story -- test your system (including both yours and his) before you're trying to feed stuff to the 'net.
I'll getcha a report on data use over the weekend once I get the Verizon page to settle down and talk to me.
-
I'm assuming it doesn't, but just thought I'd ask if this gets recorded as an audio file by anyone, and could it be reposted? (YouTube, torrent, etc) It'd be fun to hear what was being broadcast while I was running down the track...

Yes, all of our audio streams are archived when we end the stream for the day!
To get to them:
Click on the link at the top of the page and it will take you to a screen that will show archived events on the right side of the page.
Click on the link for the date you want and it will automatically start playing.
I do have a talking clock that announces the hour on the hour so that can help in finding when you ran.
HTH,
Gregg
Edited to add:
I just tried the above directions and our software vendor is currently having issues.
This is from their System Status page:
Meridix.com Website/Database DNS provider issues affecting routing. Engineers are working to resolve.
I'll try later and post when I can get to the archives. Gregg
-
Vendor issue has been resolved and the archives are available.
Use the above instructions and here is a screen shot of the archive buttons and dates available.

Ok! I'll try it it later.
-
Can you get us a direct link to the archives. It says the Domain is not registered when you click on it.
-
Mike,
The domain issue is the same problem they where having last night.
When I tried it this morning it worked. Must have gone down after me/before you tried.
Just clicked the above link and it is working again.
The link which is the same one for the live streams but here it is anyway:

As mentioned in the some of the previous post, archives are available for your listening pleasure!
Many thanks and hope everyone enjoyed,

Gregg a question for you. how long is the shut off area at Ohio and what was the cause of two cars going out the back door etc. were they chute failures or high speed runs with to short of shut down room.
-
Glen, Track length is 1.7 miles which naturally gives 1 mile to run and .7 to stop.
#1 - As I heard, vehicle had a chute that did not blossom fully and after getting on the brakes, they worked for seconds and then the pedal went to the floor. This was a new vehicle and I think it was his second or third pass. Ran about 100' off.
#2 - As I heard, complete driver error for the vehicle that ran way off the end of the track!
.7 is plenty of shutdown even for a late chute and rear only brakes. Ask the 757 Camaro team of Jack Rogers. Fast pass with chute out between finish and short shutdown, on the brakes VERY hard with one of the calipers shattering but slowed enough to turn off at long shutdown and got it stopped.
At this meet, Shane Stubbs went 248 for a new track record for motorcycles
and Ron Keslowski went 236 for the fastest speed of the meet and year for a car and no issues from either!
Just checked the website and the track record for cars is the HINSON Motorsports Corvette at 244.1929.
HTH,
Gregg

The archived audio for Sunday is only the last 15 minutes of the day??
Was the rest lost somewhere or am I just missing something?
Andy
-
Andy, I don't know what happened. I did stream the entire day from 08:00 AM till 04:00 PM.
The archives reside on our vendors hardware so let me give them a call and see what's going on.
Back later,
Gregg
PS
I think I told you a couple of times, VERY beautiful lakester you have there!
EDIT TO ADD:
Ticket open with vendor. Now the waiting game!
Will keep you posted.
-
Gregg,
Thanks for streaming and taking pictures. Even though I was there I got to see and hear very little.
Nice to meet you and thanks for the compliments on the car.

I just got a reply from Meridix, our software vendor and this is what they reported:
Unfortunately, our engineers have determined that the file is unrecoverable.
Based on our logs, it appears that some sort of series of internet disconnections (onsite bandwidth drop or interruption) took place which affected the file. While our network 99% of the time can repair these sort of issues (i.e. stitch together pieces of a broadcast back into a whole), there can be situations where this is not possible and thus the broadcast starts over whole (a limitation of the H.264/AAC format atoms). It appears this occurred in this case, which is why you only see the last portion of the file available.
We're always working to improve the ways our system can correct for onsite issues and we will continue to invest in this. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We've never experienced any problems with Meridix so hopefully it was a one time thing.
Gregg
