Hi there
I'm collecting info on Pre unit Triumphs that have run Speed records over the years.
Alp Sungurtekin tells me Howard Allen run a Pre Unit Triumph with Chantland 750 barrels in the 750 A/AF class at 164.230 mph.
Does anyone have a pic of this bike or any other info on quick Pre units.
Cheers Mossy

There is ours, not much Triumph left now but it is pre-unit with separate gearbox. checkout www.saltbike775.co.uk

Pre unit Triumphs running at Pendine set records a few days ago. Took pictures of them and will post them on the Team Go Dog, Go build diary.

These are records from Pendine on 23 through 25 May, 2015. Auto Cycle Union British national records.
Standing Start 1 Mile:
Peter Allen, Production Vintage 500cc, 1953 Triumph Tiger 100, 96.591 mph
Matthew Foote, Modified Vintage Gas 350cc, 1936 Triumph 3HW, 63.342 mph
Peter Allen, Special Partial Streamlining Pushrod Fuel 650cc, 1960 Triumph Thunderbird, 109.03 mph
Standing Start 1 Kilo:
Peter Allen, Production Vintage 500cc, 1953 Triumph Tiger 100, 91.187 mph
Matthew Foote, Modified Vintage Gas 350cc, 1936 Triumph 3HW, 76.969 mph
Peter Allen, Special Partial Streamlining Pushrod Fuel 650cc, 1960 Triumph Thunderbird, 106.937 mph
All three were tuned by Baron's Speed Shop in London. Peter and his bikes have raced at Bonneville. The Baron's website should have pix. I do not.

This is a picture of Matthew Foote's bike. The piston seized up in the bore during one of the flying kilo attempts. They let it cool down. The piston freed up and then they and set a record for the mile. The motor was not taken apart.

Wow..... you guys have been busy since I last saw the bike in 2013. Good luck in 2015, bike looks like it should hammer the record way up there.
Nice website too.

Frenchinjection, that's a gorgeous bike you have.
Thanks for posting, and best of luck to you in 2015.

Thanks for all that. I've got pics of Pete Allens bikes.
Its mainly pics of pre units that ran in the 50's and 60's I'm after, in particular Howard Allens bike.
