I'll be driving up to Wilmington tomorrow and I'll be taking pics Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will post the links in this thread.

Also, anyone who has pics, please feel free to post here!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather here today for tech inspection.
Very good turnout for this meet! I don't know what the final entry count is but it has to be close to full of 150!
Talked with many old friends and met quite a few new ones.....Always a good time for me.

Here is my Google+ link to some of today's bikes and cars:

Google Plus is a fine place to post. As usual, guys, the pics are great.

Caputo's mc looks top of the line. Was wondering if he is going to run the bodywork.

Bill, I think Guy is working the bugs out this weekend. All of his runs I saw today were without the body.
I think I remember his last run was in the 180 range.

Gregg -- great photos!

What rules were these cars running under?

I know they have some specific race and street classes, but I couldn't figure out #9293 AA/Blown Fuel Modified Sports -- where's the blower?

And #9233 C/Classic Gas Altered -- what's with the flush-mounted windows?

As for your questions, I cannot answer them and suggest you email the president of the ECTA Tonya Turk.

This was the Hot Rod Magazine Top Speed Challenge and the winners were:

Super Street - Geezer's Firebird with Brian Acton driving - 215+

I believe that ECTA Allows running up in classes. So you can rum in blown classes without a blower. And in AA with a 350. More open records to run on that way.

Rich --

I know that.  I thought it was just gas or fuel or displacement.  And in the case of the Altered, that doesn't apply.

Great photos . . thanks.   Hope everyone runs fast and safe.  By the way, that Smart Car should probably be classed as an I/GT rather than as an I/PRO.  Only has two seats . . .

The GT rule states -

"This class is limited to 2-seat production sports cars like the Corvette, Honda S-2000 or Fiero as well as limited production cars like the Factory Five Cobra manufactured by a recognized automobile manufacturer intended for comfortable high-speed driving."

The Smart Car was never intended to be anything more than an economy car, and has never been marketed as a sports car, whereas the above mentioned vehicles were "intended" to be "for comfortable high-speed driving."

As to the success of the manufacturer in achieving that goal, I'll take the Midget over the Fiero any day.

82 mph in a Smart Car - and he was having as much fun as anybody out there this weekend!

I guess if there's a questions as to whether it's a Sports Car, the final arbiter would likely be your insurance agent, but topping out at 82 mph is actually pretty sporty for a rolling phone booth.

A GLORIOUS WEEKEND!

Sean Mote's 1970 Cadillac Coupe de Kill.....One of my favorite cars and a REALLY nice guy! Had transmission issues again.
Danced right at 200 (197) last year so we all had our fingers crossed for 200 at this meet!

In the past they have posted the run logs to the website. Don't see them up yet. Often takes a week or so. With the new administration not sure but expect will be up soon.

I've posted quite a few times that I'm just a guy that takes so-so pictures and then post the links.
This is for all the folks who can't be here.....BTDT! At least this lets everyone know what bikes/cars are here.
I will be at Wilmington again in June, Loring in July and back at Wilmington in September so look for more pics.

Also, like when I was at World of Speed last year, Wendy Jefferies with Bonneville Racing News PM'd me and asked if she could use some of my pics for her paper.
Again, like last year, I was flattered and of course I said yes, so be on the lookout for some of my pics in a future edition.

Good photos Gregg.
Glad you were contacted and asked about using some photos, I found someone using a photo of mine as an "advertisement" to sell a car and when I asked them to use a photo with a "photocredit", I was accused of something and told not to take any more photos of the car.
They continued to use the photo WITHOUT a credit, I eventually told them to stop using the photo in "ANY CAPACITY", but, I was ignored again... :dhorse:

On the Today show they told of a person taking photos off the internet blowing them up and then selling them for BIG bucks without the owners permission.
