Hi Everyone
I have a TV show that wants to do an episode on the Harley Powered Streetluge. The are looking to have me come out to the El Mirage Lake and run there why they film the episode.
Can someone tell me how hard the surface really is?
I run 4" wheels on the front of the Harley Powered Streetluge.
Does anyone know if a wheel that small would run well on the Lake?

Good Luck.

El Mirage is soft just below the surface. I don't think I would try to run small wheels'

Once you get it up "on plane" with the front wheels a few inches off the surface you should be OK.

Sounds and looks like a real "Death Wish".
Can you rent a suit of armor? I don't think there is a carbon fiber made to take the amount of stress you may put on this.

I wouldn't do it. I don't think your front tires are suitable for that racing surface.

I haven't been to El Mirage since last Novembers meet. The surface was at best lousy. We haven't had any significant rain to repair the surface. We have some rain expected this Friday but it may be too little too late to create a surface you would need. I don't believe the current lakebed would support skateboard wheels.

I agree with the other posts.
Take it out to the Mojave Spaceport and run it on the runway. Google "Mojave Mile" for more info.

Los Angles is expecting a big rain this weekend, maybe some will make it over the mountains to the lake bed.
That could firm it up. If you don't need to make a long high speed pass you could search out a harder area not used by SCTA.
Looks like you have 4 wheels, if so that would help support it, just make sure there isn't any soft spots that would bottom you out. Tires with air would help.
The wind sailers or what ever you call them, [3 wheels on a frame with big azz sails, go like hell] might know a good spot.
We used to try a short squirt north of the start area which is at the west end of the lake.
