Hello!! I am in the process of building a LSR bike, I have started with an old GSXR drag bike, 92 1127, it is now a 10:1 1216cc, carrillo rods, good crank and tranny, A carbed' Mr turbo setup with a HSR Mikuni, I plan on running it on gasoline (C16), it has a stock chassis,(steering head geometry wise) lowered with a 10" over arm, with that said.. Is there anyone out there who has run a similar setup? and good advice? Im hoping this is my ticket to the 200mph club this year!!

Hello Chris,
What 200 club do you want to join? The Bonneville 200 club will require a 218 average with no fairing in blown 1350cc, or 248 with fairings. The ECTA would be much easier, 201 would do it with a fairing. But a draw-through oil-cooled GSXR will make it a little more challenging.
Google DAS Performance, run by the Paquette brothers. They field a fast blow-through GSXR of that vintage, and might be able to help you with a draw through.

Welcome, where are you going to run? Pavement and salt have different setups. Search the LR past posts lots of good information. Good luck nice to see more people getting into LSR :cheers:

I have joined and plan on running in the ECTA, I went to the September meet in Wilmington, it was an eye opener as to the difficulty of going 200, not as easy as I thought based on the speeds of the bikes I saw in the staging lanes! I was a dragracer for years and have done some road racing, this is going to be fun! Hopefully the bike will make it to the dyno in another month or so, and produce some good numbers. Thanks for your help, any info / input is welcomed, Ill post some pics when it starts looking like something

In the early to mid ninetys Joe Hale produced a series of paperback magazines, first under the title of "Turbo Bike", then "Powertech",, there is a wealth of information in these publications concerning Old Skool and Turbocharging,, google it, :cheers:

You could also call Terry Kizer (Mr Turbo) - he is LSR savvy and could help you set up your bike. I'd consider methanol. -Dean
