No Glen this doesn't have anything to do with those places Kent mentioned  .

One other site I frequent -- Rodder's Roundtable (http://www.roddingroundtable.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=1)  has a section where they post your picture if you so desire.  It is a good way to know what people look like so when you are looking for them the first time you might have better luck.

I'm wondering if anyone else would participate in this besides me. Of course most of us will post a picture that is about 10 years old and 15 lbs. lighter so it still might not help.

Jon if there is interest would you want to do it?

I'll start off with my dog's picture until I see what the response is to this.

Them's fighting words.  Meet me at the "fence".  If I'm not there look for my stand-in the "mean linebacker" :D .

So is that a "yes" or a "no" to the idea :?:  :?:

Oh btw most people would probably say you were right  .

I've started a page/s on my site for your pictures and/or your crew's pictures ( HERE (http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/bvilleother/people%20index.html) ).  If you would like me to add your picture send it to me along with your name -- Internet name -- state/country.

Jon if you would like to add a section on your site (you get a lot more traffic than I do) let me know and I can take mine down and put a link there to yours.

Hey, Pork Pie - What's up with the Studebaker patch on your jacket? More than a fan, perhaps?

Hey, Pork Pie - What's up with the Studebaker patch on your jacket? More than a fan, perhaps?

Aircap,

I lived in Wabash Indiana - abaut 1 1/2 drive from Soutbend.

Between the Hall of Fame for College Football and the Studebaker Museum are only some yards to walk.

Liked both places.

A friend of mine bought about 10 years ago a Avanti with big 8 cyl. engine in - to get the interior restored he has only to go his attic - there was a complete, still original packed, interior in black leather - seat, floor, dashboard, door trims. He increased the front end opening to give the engine and the radiator more fresh air, that the problem with the big block - the overheating was eliminate.

I enjoy it all the time when I tour to LA/Malibu with my friend Stan and the Avanti.
But one of my favorite is the 1956 (?) coupe - forgot the right name - but this the version which is very often used at the salt for modified coupes.

Studebakers were  great cars, sad that the company has shut down.

By the way, the most people ask me "what a funny Pepsi sign this is...."

Pepsi :?  :D

See ya

Chris was so kind, to let me know, that the Studebaker I mentioned was the before 56 version - 53 - there are a lot at the salt, some slightly modified coupe....with roots compressor on the top which is higher than the roof of the racer....

The "don't bend over at Wendover" team's car got so much inspection sticker on the windshield, that the driver has not to much left over to view the course - some years ago, I wrote in my Fast Facts article - if the last gap on the windshield is closed, there car will be retired - I hope this never happens - and they will find a replacement windshield  :)

Title: LONG HISTORY
Post by: JackD on July 07, 2006, 06:58:26 PM
A long time after the Stud was out of production , one of them spun
as it shutdown on the first leg of a record.
As often happened even in a flat spin the rear window left the car.
The cleanup was quite a chore but that was the cost of racing.
Now the Stud is halfway home on a record attempt with no back window.
Where Ya gonna get one of those ?
Word spread quickly through the entire Stud field and one was offered up
from a relative and installed in time to do the successful return run.
The Studebaker has not been perfected yet , but a lot of the people are getting pretty close
and others are more distant than ever..

This is, what Bonneville and our sport makes different to other sport.

We are competitor.....and we are a big community who helps each other.

A place I love to stay 8)
