Title: Honey Buckets for WOS?
Post by: SteveM on August 14, 2013, 07:41:02 PM
Anybody know if the Honey Bucket folks will be bringing any of their fine structures to the salt during WoS?

Yes they will.  Excellent vendors to deal with.

Excellent news.  Is there a main point of contact, or anyone within USFRA who might be a good starting point to coordinate this type of thing?

I don't know if USFRA has a POPP, and if said postulated person has a name, but yes, they do use Honey Buckets.  Want to rent one for your pit?  Contact Trevor Inman at Honey Buckets.  I've got his number here someplace. . .and I'll give it to you when I find it.

I believe that WoS was the initial user of the Honey Buckets on the salt.  Our treasurer is very specific about what he expects for servicing convenience stops and the Honey Bucket folks have exceeded the details of the requests.  We appreciate their willingness to go the extra mile (or pump) to make sure that their units are clean and as odor free as possible.  As one who remembers the old outhouse as the only spot to relieve yourself (or place to dump a "chamber pot") the difference between those plastic conveniences and our old one out by the corral is night and day.

If I may add - HB is the "official" stop for the Shootout.

Good service and a fair price - a bit of advice from my father.

Would it be too late to ask that a couple be placed at the "Bend"? Assuming it is dry enough to camp there.

I think the official suggested camping spot is now the site for the museum in Wendover.  The BLM would rather not have the crowd at the bend in the road.  No toilets there would help to discourage campers.
