Just so you all know... We ran that tire size with Weldwheel Drag-Lites on our lakester until 2009. (Remember that Cliff Gullett had been fatally injured in a crash at "BUB" the year earlier) There was A LOT of negativity directed towards us as to the legality of running those wheels/tires with one inspector even sticking his nose into the inspection process of which he was no part and stating as if it was fact that the tires WERE NOT LEGAL TO RUN! (After, on my part, a dressing down of that inspector, he conceded that, if it was up to him, they would be illegal blah blah blah...)
We went through run by run scrutiny of the tires... When we "popped" one, they were all over us about that was exactly what they expected to have happen - until a good look showed that we had apparently run over something that had cut the tire (something like a DZUS button). We were sort of speed limited to 225mph for the first part of the week anyway- and since we had licensing passes for two drivers, the speed limitation was not a huge issue to us. I think that we had, by the end of that week, done eleven runs and had pretty much proven that the tires were okay to run on the salt - at least up to 225mph.
My advice then is to get in touch with Lee Kennedy about your specific application and expected speeds of these tires and find out what, if any concerns may yet linger.

As I understand these tires are not now allowed over anything that exceeds 200 mph. Per Goodyear engineering at 275 the bead comes off of the rim after about 5-6 seconds and this has happened with these tires at Bonneville in 2009 or 2010 on a C/GL at 278.
