Title: Battery for the Circus
Post by: typo41 on June 11, 2013, 03:07:19 PM
We found out that a 9 year old battery doesn't hold a charge well :-D

It was the battery left in after the last run in 2004. Currentally there is a large 'normal' car battery mounted to the floor of the trunk. But to the left there is a battery hole that held a small almost motorcycle battery. I figure when George had the car becaue he ran a mag and might have pushed started, he didn't need a bunch of cranking power.

Now for the stupid question. The hole is about 6 X 9 inches, I am open for a suggestion on a battery, I read about dry cells but I would like to hear from the 'experts' on a good battery that would fit the hole and still crank our 350. I would like to spend around $100.

You won't get one to fit that hole for a C note.

Rich, yea when George first sold the Circus he kept the GMC,  it last ran a Chevy 6, all the GMC went after he died. We are changing the motors for the season and will be running a mag though.

OK, I am too cheap(thirifty? racer poor?)

Suggestions on reality, just swap the big lead battery for another big lead battery, weight is our friends.

I have some options we can look at for next season. I will bring my books along and we can pretend we are kids looking at the Christmas Toy catalog! :-D

I will try and call you this week about food and merriment.
