Anyone know about apps? Like how do you get it to market, do you have to get Apple permission/approval, are apps available on other platforms such as Micro Soft? All the things a person needs to know when considering creating an app.
Thanks in advance,
DW

Dan, I know next to nothing about apps, but I do think I remember reading that Apple keeps some kind of a hand on hat they allow in their store.
Back to what's your app - - I know, I betcha. It'll be one that automatically refers any question to the manual. The user will select that app, input his question, and the app will display: "RTFM". Am I rght?

Dan,
Easiest way to think of it is Apple is a closed shop, you have to pay them for the right to put your app on an Apple product
Android is open source, meaning free to get the development software, and you can do both limited free versions, and chargeable versions of your app. :-D

both apple and android provide free development tools.
to publish you need a developers account, apple charges
$99 a year while google's is a one time $25 charge...

Thanks all, not at liberty to reveal my idea as of yet. I think it will benefit the group.

On a scale from 1-10 it's a 10 to get an app developed, tested, and published. Both Android and Apple have to vet the app to see if it is harmful etc.
You need to have a real game plan to get it rolling.

Thanks Dean. I'll be looking for someone with experience to continue my research.
